As a teacher, what was the most difficult thing to learn?

For me the biggest challenge has been to stop criticizing myself too much. I want each lesson to be more exciting and educational than the last but sometimes that's not possible. There are times where you have to do a lesson that encourages learning but that may not have everyone leaving the classroom laughing or saying thank you for a wonderful lesson. I always told myself I would be different than all the teachers I had and while I have achieved that, it's still difficult to cope with some blah classes.

I was a teacher of Financial Management in five colleges for nine years. The biggest challenge was to make sure you deliver each lesson as concisely and as comprehensive as possible. The course had 40 units of one and a half hour each. At the start I sat down and put on paper 40 units of lectures. Over the period I corrected inaccuracies and kept the material up to date. Financial Management is a very broad subject. It is an important requirement of Management Studies in general.
