I had 3 children in the past 6 years. With the first two in under a year i was thin again. With my last one i only gained 27lbs but i can't seem to loose these pds a yr and a half later. Well anyway we are going to hawaii this summer and i want to look really good!!! So i have been working out and dieting like crazy. My husband keeps bothering me while i am trying to work out. He says that it gets him turned on to watch but it dosent do the same for me. In fact i WILL not workout infront of him it makes me feel weird. Would you let you significant other watch you?

I don't like my husband watching me workout. We have a home gym and he sets the plates up for me, then leaves the room for me to go at it alone. Sometimes before he goes, he may make sure that my form is correct, but after that I tell him to go, because I get too distracted with him in the room due to him talking to me and I can't get a good workout in. On time he told me something funny and sure enough I had to stop working out because I was laughing too hard. I told him from then on he had to leave the room so I can complete my workout.

....but what if he was working out with you. Wouldn't that be a little different? I'm sure someone staring at you would be weird. I guess going to the gym is different. In fact I'd rather have some people (mostly women :o) in the gym working out as opposed to being by myself or a few (but not too crowded). How about you? Do you go to the gym at all?

I don't mind if he is working out with me. But since we haven't done that in years (due to him being busy with work and me with our kids), it really isn't an option. I also don't mind if he were to stare at me while I'm working out. But when he is talking to me and making me laugh, it is a different story. LOL No, I do not go to the gym. As we have a home gym there is no need to go to one and pay the monthly dues. :P

From a personal standpoint sure. I guess it all depends on your comfort level. If you don't feel comfortable working out in front of your husband, that's perfectly fine. I've been around fitness / athletics since I was a kid and was actually in the fitness industry for 5 years managing a fitness center, so working out in front of people is something I'm very used to. Take Care. Great Question.

Hi! The only reason I don't let my husband watch me is because he wants to change my routine around. He constantly wants to "correct" what I am doing wrong. I like to put on my headphones and block out everyone when I exercise. It's a form of stress relief for me. The important thing is to keep on exercising and not let any obstacle including a husband get in your way!

I would not want my partner watching me work out, you are getting all hot and sweaty trying to exercise. I don't mind if he chats to me for little while while working out then goes again. Or I would not mind if he was in the same room doing something, just would not want him sitting there staring at me the whole time while I am working out.

I don't work out in front of my significant other and never will. Same goes with dancing, I just can't do it. I don't go to the gyms to work out either because I have a fear of being around other people in the process. I try to work out at home while the man's gone so that I can feel comfortable. The only problem with this is having small children around and they always need the mommy. I have thought about having someone watch them a few times a week while I try to get my body in shape.

Working out in front of my hubby doesn't bother me. I try and get on the treadmill daily. Recently I was diagnosed with exercise induced asthma. I am now on an inhaler. I have to use it before I exercise or do any sort of long walking. So that means I typically wait now until my hubby is home, before I start my workout. Makes me feel better.

No no no and no I have never worked out in front of my other half!! I just cant yet I have been with him for nearly 9 years. I have 4 children, with my first 2 I never put anything on in weight at all, it was great. But with my third child I put weight on during the pregnancy and couldnt shift it after the birth, in fact the harder I tried to lose weight the more I seemed to put on! Anyway I got pregnant again with my 4th child and I was 13 stone I think at the beginning of the pregnancy, I became ill during the pregnancy and lost 3 stone because I was 10 stone after I gave birth. I decided to try and lose a bit more and this time it seemed to work and I managed to lose another 2 stone, so I dont know if it was down to my hormones or something. Anyway when I work out or do exercise i do it in the bedroom out of the way or as he goes out to work I try and work out when he is at work.
