My son's school is starting two hours late today. It's only 9.13am and we are just sitting here munching on snacks and watching cartoons.
Its pouring with rain outside and we are expecting some thunderstorms later on in the day.
How's the weather where you are?

nope, the schools started at the same time. we are having okay weather here. i 've been following the news on the horrid weather in china and the fact that people are stuck at train stations or taking bus rides for three days when under normal weather conditions (no snow or heavy rain) it would only have taken half a day. the train stations are jammed because the power lines have snapped due to the extreme cold. people are stuck everywhere because they are rushing back for the equivalent of christmas and thanksgiving when the family reunites after working long distances from each other. usually work comes to a total standstill for 10 days during this lunar new year period.

All schools are closed today. It is snowing to beat the band. We are expecting about 15cm. We are also expecting freezing rain, sleet, rain, the whole shebang! The schools were closed for the anticipated weather and not the weather conditions this morning because I don't think it was that bad earlier today. Right now my girls are behind me playing air hockey and making a heck of a lot of noise. My oldest daughter had one exam this week so has been home all week. Won't Monday be nice if they are both back in school?

Actually I was surprised that the schools were delayed two hours because the weather didn't seem so bad this morning. Just as well I saw the news and weather last night and remembered to check the tv to see if any changes were made to the school timetable.
When I walked my son to the bus at 10am, a few mothers had not seen the news and were outside at 8am and wondering where the bus was this morning. They didn't think the rain would have any affect on the school being delayed as I did too.
Other than watching tv and munching, my son spent some time making birthday invitations (his birthday is not until July LOL). I'm not sure why he was making them but I just let him have his fun, coloring in, cutting and writing a message. He seems to be into cutting paper and making things at the moment.

In Virginia... its suppose to be freezing rain here too... mind you I haven't stepped outside to check yet but will be walking my son to the bus stop in 20 minutes. Looks like normal rain to me haha
Hope the weather gets better where you are!

The schools here started on time today but most of them in central Indiana were on a delay or closed due to the weather. We got a small amount of snow and some freezing rain last night so it was kind of slick out. However, I went to work at 7 a.m. and it wasn't bad out.

I and a few other mothers were actually surprised they did start two hours early as the weather wasn't too bad. I suppose it was better to be safe than sorry as the weather forecast the night before said otherwise.

Yes my daughter has a two-hour delay too. It is freezing rain here in Pittsburgh. She's happy about it but of course she didn't sleep in so I still had to get up.

When I woke up I checked the weather channel on tv and found that he had a two hour delay so I let him sleep in. He still got up at 7.30 though LOL I wouldn't of minded an extra hours sleep haha
