It is almost that time

the weather is going to be warming up here in Northwest Florida soon, and that means FISHING. I haven't had the opportunity to fish as much as I would have liked in recent years, but I plan to remedy that this year. What is your favorite type of fishing to do and why do you like it? I like saltwater fishing, because you never know what you are going to catch, and the possibility of catching something that is literally bigger than you are is real. However, my true passion for fishing goes back to when I was a kid up in Georgia, and we would go catch catfish. Fishing for catfish has got to be my favorite type of fishing. It is usually relatively simple, almost anyone can do it with a minimal investment in gear, and even some of the smaller catfish put up a whale of a fight. Not to mention that in the south, catfish are considered by most to be some very tasty eating. The smaller ones are better to eat. The best ones to eat are usually from about 6 inches to a foot long, but if you are fishing on public waters, be sure to adhere to any size limits that may be in place. Nothing can ruin a great day fishing like being caught with illegal fish when the game warden shows up, but if you are on a private lake or pond, the smaller ones are the best eating, unless you are going to cut it up and make a stew or something. Then something in the 2-4 pound range may be a better option. SO, what do you like to fish for? and why do you like it ?
