I have been sewing with a machine for the last five years and hand sewing since I learned how in brownies when I was about seven years old. I am currently working on two projects. A blanket for my bed, one side is green cotton jungle animals with a pale yellow border and the other side is pale yellow flannel with a green jungle animal boarder. Inside is cotton batting. It is very warm and cozy I love wrapping up in it while watching tv or playing video games. My second project is a lizzard cushin one side is green crushed velvet and the other side is purple crushed velvet. It will be filled with cotton batting with black button eyes. I am making it for my friend, he has two pet lizzards and loves them alot. I have made many blankets. They are deifnatly my favourite to make but I am going to try my hand at making the animal chushions and possibly selling them :)

I love sewing, I am note a great seamstress, but I find it very relaxing and I enjoy it, so I do it a lot. Mostly I have made clothing, but on occasion I have made some home dec stuff and recently I have started done some embroidery.

I am not bad with hand sewing but when it comes to machine sewing I am completely hopeless, I admire people who are good at sewing especially those who do patchwork quilts. I love them...

It's good to see teenagers liking to be able to sew.....I took home ec. in school....When we sewed the teacher knew she didn't have to stand over my shoulder to see I was using the machine right....I made more outfits than anyone in my sewing class.....The other girls enjoyed cooking more than I did....... Then when my girls started to school I could put together a outfit for them to go to school with the next day....My mother was a very large person and I used to make clothing for her cause she couldn't buy clothes off the rack......One year when I was only 16 I made her a coat made from linen fabric and a satin lining that some people who were seamstests said they would not have attempted to do....You are very wise to learn the art of being a seamstrest.......It will save you and your future husband a lot of money...
