Sometimes we talk out so loud thinking that we can't be heard of by the other person. But there are times other persons hear us and communicating with us but we fail to hear what they say coz we tend to be deaf or is not really listening intently. I received this in my email. Any comments... Hearing problems, A short story that I have received, and found it very interesting to share with you; A man feared his wife wasn't hearing as well as she used to, and he thought she might need a hearing aid. Not quite sure how to approach her, he called the family Doctor to discuss the problem. The Doctor told him there is a simple informal test the husband could perform to give the Doctor a better idea about her hearing loss. Here's what you do, said the Doctor, "Stand about 40 feet away from her, and in a normal conversational speaking tone see if she hears you. If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on until you get a response". That evening, the wife was in the kitchen cooking dinner, and he was in the den. He says to himself, "I'm about 40 feet away, let's see what happens." then in a normal tone he asks, 'Honey, what's for dinner?" No response. So the husband moves to closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his wife and repeats, "Honey, what's for dinner? Still, no response. Next he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his wife and asks, Honey, what's for dinner?" Again he gets no response so; He walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away. "Honey, what's for dinner?" Again there is no response. So he walks right up behind her. "Honey, what's for dinner? "!!!!!"James, for the FIFTH time I've said, CHICKEN!" Now, here is the tip: The problem may not be with the other one as we always think, it could be very much within us..!

I have problems with my ears and have had problems for about 5 years now. I have been to a specialist and have another appointment in April. It isn't that I have trouble hearing, it's problems with the nerves that go to my ears. But I do know what it is like to have trouble hearing, at times. My left ear doesn't work when I have a nerve attack and I can only hear mumbled sounds out of it. It only lasts about 15 minutes and then passes and I can hear porperly again. But in those 15 minutes it is awful. I can't imagine what it would be like to be hard of hearing.

Hi there. I hope the problem with your ears will be resolved soon during your scheduled appointment in April. Yes, it must be really hard for those who can not really hear. I appreciate your sharing in this discussion.

LOL I've heard that one before sweetheart but it still makes me laugh loudly! As it happens my daughter is having hearing problems just now but that is due to an ear infection - it wouldn't be so bad if she didn't shout all the time - we have tried explaining we can hear her but still she shouts ! lol xxx

Hi mummy. Your daughter's hearing problem is temporary then, when the ear infection is out, then her hearing will be back to normal. Wish that she and you are ok. Thanks for the response mummy.

Well, I noticed that some people have a hearing problem on only one ear. Some people don't wish to admit that they have a hearing problem.
