Dandruff Cure

My friend gave me a tried and tested cure for dandruff. I tried it initially on my son, who has had dandruff for quite a few months, and surprisingly, it cured almost 98% of his problem. I tried it on myself today, and almost 70% of my problem has disappeared. It is very simple. Soak a spoon of mustard seeds overnight and grind them with curd to a paste. apply on scalp and leave for about 20 minutes. Wash off normally, and you end up with a clean, dandruff free scalp! one word of caution though... It burns like hell... Try it only if you are brave enough to bear the burning. The sensation of burning heightens when the head comes in contact with water while washing.. OH.. i saw the sun, the moon, the stars, and the whole universe. but i don't mind. I got freedom from itching and flaking.. :)

REally?? Does it work? And you think it's worth going through the burning for it? How old is your son? It's only my husband and I who seem to have this problem (I still doubt if it is dandruff).....but I'll try it only after I mentally prepare myself and when I have someone home with me...lol I have a baby who needs taking care of and I'm not going to try any burning tactics....unless I have backup to help me with him:P

It really did work for me. I have been having this problem for a very long time and anti dandruff shampoos didnt help much. My son is 12, and he seems to be totally cured of the itching and flaking. If you have a baby, you really need to be more careful... but if your problem is chronic, i would really ask you to give it a try. It may be worth it... lol

Wow, that's good to know. Do you think it would work with prepared mustard you buy for hamburgers and stuff or only from seed? Thanks!

hello Brimia i can't be sure, but i think prepared mustard has salt content and other preservatives which could do more harm to your hair and lead to hairloss. It would be best if you could get those dry mustard seeds from any indian store and use it as mentioned. Try it out on a small area to see if you can bear the burning sensation... good luck.

hmmm, my teen girl has horrible itching scalp... vinegar rinses work but not for long. I may just give this a try - I have a huge container of ground mustard, just not sure what you mean by Curd. Cheese curds? the only problem is my daughter has such a sensitive scalp, I do not know how she will handle the burning.
