why am I single?

February 2, 2008 7:40pm CST
So I just wanted to know from people who are single, why do you think that you are? I'm basing this on the assumption that you don't want to be single. Where am I going wrong? I feel like I'm stuck in singlehood, I really do. Is it some general mistake that all of us singletons are making? Or will our time come? Who knows. I'd like to think that I have a soulmate out there somewhere, but I also don't know how much of that is just fantasy.

no one can answer why you are still single except you alone...not everybody have the same reason why they chose to be single all along...everyone has their own story on why they are stil single...

I think that perhaps if I stop looking, then it will come along to me when it's meant to. After all, everything happens for a reason right?

no if you stop looking you just loose more time to find the right one for you...its like, you wanted an apple but you are not picking it up but your are waiting for it to fall to the ground by itself and by the time it fell,it is already overripe.im sure you dont want some "over ripe" women do you...

Basing on that assumption, it really then depends on the oppurtunity as well on the determination. If you really don't want to be single, though I don't find anything wrong as it is a personal choice to be one or not, you just have to look for someone interesting and see if you two could work out something. The mistake that I could think of would be hesitations. Like uncertainties as well as being unable to commit to something. Giving excuses as well as not really trying. "If you want to, there are ways. If you don't want to, there are reasons." Something like that. Time would come, of course, its inevitable unless one really intends to be like that for the rest of their existence. Of course its a mix of fantasy. Why would you want to be in such a relationship if your not expecting the realities in it. The inhibitions as well as the restrictions that would follow when things like that happen so that it would just work out. As for me, I'd be honest, I'd like to be around with a easy going young lady and have a good time with her. Nothing bad about that. Inhibitions being broken layer by layer or something like what you see or read on anime or manga. That is fantasy running in my head but the possibility isn't that distant right? Then again, I haven't met anyone like that.. well, again to be specific.

Because I'm introvert and shy.. hence fears to initiate conversation while with strangers.. that's why I'm single

i have no problem with beng single , i mean for me , i say life is too short for non-sense , couples i know just break up and get back together just to break up again over the same non-sense ..i have no time for that , and yes ive been through the serious relaitonship i thought she was but i guess not, id rather be single now and build up my clout my stature as a man like having a degree , the house and basically my own ..before i jump into another relationshop with a women , i think in todays world we need to focus more on ourselves instead of playing guessing games with eachother cause at the end of the road it goes no where and you just waisted your time , when you could have been established in that amount of time ..my 2 cents thanks

I'm not sure, but I think it's because I just keep picking wrong people (like I'm hanging onto one man, in hopes that maybe, just maybe, he'll decide I'm the ONE)(fat chance!) Actually, I'm relatively intelligent, reasonably attractive (look at my avatar--that's me 2 years ago) and own my own home...so I really don't know? Maybe my standards are too high?

hey rachy! ^__^ wow, you're only 18 and you're already sick of being single?? i'm 25 and single. ^__^;; i don't plan on staying single for the rest of my life but i am still currently enjoying my single-blessedness. i'm enjoying a life free of responsibilities and obligations and i don't have any plan yet of stopping that. i do like having a boyfriend because it makes life enjoyable so if someone i like wanted to be my boyfriend, then i go for it. ^__^;; but i don't really have plans yet of settling down. enjoy your single life first rachy. you'd miss it once you're tied down. ^__^

Well, even though I'm quite content with being single now, I know a couple of reasons why I will stay single even if I didn't want to be. First off, since I'm deep in friends with benefits with a couple of people, it makes me unappealing to the dating types, which is really a shame, because I went away from dating because it was hard to get anyone worthwhile anyway. A lot of my friends are girls who consider me cool but would be comfortable with me on their hall (at school) because they don't think of me like a guy who would ever be after girls, so I'm just viewed differently by them, making it impossible for me to have a relationship with them.

I am singe, with two kids but with a live-in partner. I am still single because I don't believe that marriage is an assurance taht you'll be living together forever. I like what I am now before I don't get pressured over a piece of paper.
