when im still young and in school i really like to read books or anything kind of reading materials i can grabbed on...and its still now at present..but lately as i grow maturely i feel changes on me on the preferences i made when it terms to reading..i had given it a thought lately and that is i promise that i wont read anything unless i have finish reading the bible itself..not only reading it but must be done comprehensively and by heart...although ive been reading bibles since i was at school(since i was in a private sectarian(catholic) school and was obliged to and occasionally only when im married)..right now im still in the old testament part yet(book of samuel)...slow but sure...what about you? have you promise something to yourself and really meant and do it?

doing things for the sake of just finishing it is good discipline but i believe that if we just take time and understand what we are reading ,even if we have not finished all of it will provide us an idea what is it all about because everything that has been written are all practical sense.these are all reminders and guidelnes to our daily lives.

im not reading just to finish the book..its about understanding what really happens during the old times..its about faith i guess..(reading slowly but surely)

thank you again, van! i also see to it that i read slowly and digest every word that has been written so i can read more between the lines.

i believe the bible is not meant to be read like the way you do. it is not a book that one should read from the beginning to end. but i know it does not hurt to do that. i have been reading a lot lately but they are more of academic books. i miss literary books. i should finish my graduate studies first, then back to reading anything i want.

yeah i know what you mean by that..but im very careful too on it since the new testament is much more different from the old and i can differentiate it i guess just curious how it was on times of moses and the descendants doing(just like history you need to know the beginning of it and ending)..its nice to read the old testament so many stories and miracles happening ..
