Are ads always targeted to one group?

Well it seems most tv ads are targeted to the people who would most likely be home at a certain time.Like women at home most shopping shows have womens products to sell more stuff to the house wives..

Of course they are. There are whole companies out there that are devoted strictly to helping a company find their target audience.

Yeah its crazy how they manage to target women on those shopping shows so that when the men are at work the women use 3/4 of their spare money on stupid crap and then he can't get anythign he wants for himself because its all already gone ;(.
