I should write more often on a daily basis, but don't, because I have so many other things going on in my life. However, I will write about a significant event, such as my dad's passing nearly two years ago from lung cancer. I was there at his side and asked him if he wanted anything. He said, "No-o-o-o-o-o-o," and then he was gone. I'll never forget that time.

I can't really say that it would help for everyone, but I have to admit that there is a certain degree of satisfaction in finishing things. I have read in numerous articles over the years(that I can't recall, so as to site here) that writing things down makes goals more concrete and gets a person more motivated to try to accomplish them. I know it certainly does for me. I love being able to do things in the order I want them done. Not to mention that without taking down due dates for projects or even at the end of the day logging what happened in a journal I'm not really sure where I would be. Journaling is a release for me, and it documents things in the order they happen. I have a hard time with that. I tend to get easily distracted by life's events, and my days blend together without the use of a daily planner or calendar to keep me straight.

I'd be lost without my day planner! I keep it with me wherever I go. I also right down important things that happen during the day so I have a reference should I ever need it. It keeps me organized and sane.

I write a lot of to do lists, or just lists in general. I like it because it helps me keep up on my daily goals or agenda. It acctually helps me also get things done faster as well so the sooner I cross them off my list the sooner I can go play or relax or watch tv etc.

i think it really helps to sort out things. at times, i get overwhelmed by a lot of things in my life. writing them down is like a review of the events and i am able to gain insights from those events. even little things can have meaning which would be taken for granted if not written.
