Can anyone help me set up my own website?

I wanted to set up my own website for a long time now but i don't really know where to start. I've read you can pay to get one from google, or for free in some other sites. Frankly, this is a bit confusing. Getting my own site would definitely help if I wanted to market stuffs, offer services, etc.

Often your internet provider is offering webspace. Maybe you can check that because you have to pay nothing more and it's very handy. There are also a lot of sites wich explain about HTML-code like http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/ Hope you can make yourselve a nice site!
