I am glad to hear so far that potato skins are not harmful. My family eats the skin, but we had company last night and they didn't so I just put it into the dog dish..And raisins are not good? I didn't know that, thanks for the warning..:)

I haven't heard of either of those being poison to dogs...One time my dog was throwing up a lot. So the vet told us to feed the dog potatoes, rice, and pasta. But I don't believe that the vet mentioned anything about peeling the potato. I think that if it was poison the vet would have mentioned something...At least I would hope.

We feed our dog the skins whenever we have baked potatoes. They love them and never seem to get sick from it. I know that dogs digest cooked fruits and vegetables easier than raw, so it would be best to cook them first. Garlic and onions aren't good for dogs, too much can make them anemic.

My dog eats anything. raisins, chocolate, potato skins, chicken bones, you name it. He will even tear into a head of lettuce from my garden in the summer.
He is a big dog though and has a cast iron stomach. I've never heard that potato skins are bad for dogs so I would ask a vet but my dog eats them cooked all the time and he is alive and well.

My dog has eaten that kind of stuff before and it hasn't hurt him yet.
