Here's the scenario. You go to the car wash so that your car can well, get washed. LOL You get it washed and feel better that your car is clean. As you are driving home, all of a sudden SPLAT! on the windshield. That's right, a bird pooped from up above (that you didn't even see) and it landed on your nice clean car. Oh and when you get home you tell someone there what happened and they find ANOTHER bird dropping on the car, this one was where you didn't see it land, like on the roof of it. This is what happened to me today. And no, I am not kidding. Darn birds. :P So, have you ever gotten your car washed and a bird pooped on it shortly after? Please share your stories and thoughts here. Thanks. :)

I have had this happen but usually it is dust from the gravel on the roads. I have found that right after I wash my car it usually rains therefor putting mud on my car.

Haha I'm just like you barbiegirl. After I wash the car or after taking it to the car wash, it rains! Then I would feel stupid for wasting my time. Darn unpredictable weather!

Ohhhh yes yes yes!! More times than I care to count but one time stands out in my mind is when I got my car washed and then on the way home, a bird did it's business on my windsheild and then another did it's business on my drivers side window. Talking about aggravation at it's best!! LOL I know how you feel sacmom. Money and time well WASTED.... :) My mom calls it a deposit, the bird likes my car so much it put a deposit on it. LOL

Hahaha, I like that! It sounds like your mom knows how to turn something that's negative into a positive. Even bird poop! LOL

Yeah she can and let me tell ya, she can turn a positive into a negative in a heartbeat too. She means well but gosh she's got a mean streak in her as well as the nice side. I love her to no end but I'm very careful around her.

Yep, it has happened to me...it was either a bird dropping, a puddle of mudd, or it would start raining...but it really drives me nuts hehe. Yes, in those moments you feel like shooting all the world's birds down, don't you?

Where I work I park under a tree...need I say more? LOL...well last week we finally had a nice day.....I thought it would be nice to clean the car and I knew it would get dirty right away because of all the snow...but I figured I'd get the old salt and sand off it...well it stayed clean for a couple of hours. I was sitting at a stop sign when someone goes by much too fast and totally splashed muddy water on mine! I was kinda p*ssed. Even though I knew it would get dirty someone had to totally cover it with mud. Going a little slower he wouldn't have gotten my whole car dirty!

Wow, that really sucks. :( My mom used to park under trees with a Cadillac she had. She thought it would stay cleaner that way. WRONG! LOL

That is like the story the farm girls used to tell about rain. If the crops needed water, their dads would kid them, "Honey, go wash your hair! We need rain." Doesn't it seem like every time you fix your hair up just perfect, then the weather turns from dry to damp, it rains and you get the frizzies? That belief was ridiculed in a logic class I took in college, and sure it is fallacious reasoning, but doesn't it just seem very true sometimes? Same thing goes for car washes. But I think if we get the deluxe wash with the "seal" then the poop comes off easier, and it is best to do it right away, eh, before the chemicals leach into the paint?

Yes, it sure does! Lucky for me I don't get perms anymore so no more frizzies for me. LOL Yep, have to get that bird poop of ASAP, or it ruins the paint. Thankfully my husband did just that when he saw the 'mess' that day.

It usually just rains or snows. We have a car wash that will rewash if it rains within 24 hours though so if I"m getting the works done I go there and then I can have some one else vacume out my car too. :)

Really? How cool! This wouldn't also apply to cars that happen to get bird poop on them shortly after a wash, would it? :P LOL

What never fails for me is that it rains the next day and my dad calls and asks me to stop by. Why is that bad? His driveway is a QUARTER MILE LONG (I am not kidding) and gets incredibly muddy. The other one that happens is someone manages to splash muddy water up on my clean car. I hate that! I have a white car and it's been so long since it's been washed that I had to look at my garage door to get an idea of the shade of white it's supposed to be!

LOL I suppose some birds are quite particular on where they poop and prefer a clean shiny car :) I'm sorry I didn't mean to make fun since it actually happened with our car way too many times, but I have to apologize because it does sound funnier when it's on someone else's car LOL BUt it is true that this or any other version of let's dirty the clean car seems to happen every time one washes the car, it's some sort of obscure law I guess. Hope you have a wonderful week:)

That's quite alright arkaf. I can see how it can be funny to others. LOL Maybe you have something going though. A clean shiny car may be more attractive to the birds, thus wanting them to poop on it. If only it could be the other way around and they pooped on dirty cars instead.

Has it EVER happened are you serious sweety! I thought the birds followed you from the carwash just to do this so we started washing it at home! lol It didn't help though within half an hour there is always bird poo somewhere on the car! Isn't it strange how if you don't wash it they don't add any more but as soon as you wash it it happens again? lol xxx

And some people think animals are dumb! Dumb? I'd say animals are far more intelligent than some humans. You are right with your observation. It like the local cats in our area, as soon as I have dugged the garden they come and use it as a toilet because it's freshly dugged, ruddy cheeky I say! Scratching my nicely, hard worked garden!!!!

Hey mummymo, yes it is very strange, though as one responder said maybe it's because the birds can't see the car to poop on it if it's already dirty! LOL I would wash the car at home, but the water is too hard here. So I take it to the local car wash instead. Though if I did wash it at home I'd probably get bird poop on it anyway! LOL Wolfie, I agree with you and mummymo. Animals are NOT dumb! I'm guessing the only people that say that are the ones that never had one before. :P

Well, I can't remember that scenario, but isn't it Murphy's law that just after you go to the trouble, that it starts raining or the tree next to your driveway decides to dump pollen everywhere. Never fails. LOL.

Lucky for me, there was no chance of rain today! I never gave much thought about the pollen. Boy, that would be messy just after a car wash, wouldn't it? :P

Just got done washing the van and was coming home from the car wash when smack on the windshield and hood. I prayed the the bird would fly into a telephone pole or at least get tangled in the wires I was so made.

It hasnt happened to me.But what has happened is after i have had the car washed, a car would pass by me, right into a small lake of rainwater at the street and have the side of my car need wash again. It is very irritating but theres nothing you can do :(

Ooh, definitely not a good way to get a bath! Drivers really need to be careful when there are flooded areas on the road. Just a few weeks ago I saw a car several feet ahead of me get soaked from the driver right next to them, from all the rain we had. These drivers could have avoided this spot, but as it was dark it was hard to tell how much water was actually on the road.

This can't be worse than what happened to me years ago. It had rained heavily and that caused flooding in some roads. I was traveling home from the university and suddenly came across a flooded road which looked like a reservoir of water. I was feeling rather scared at the prospect of getting my car stalled in the flood. Seeing that some of the cars made it across, I plucked up my courage and drove though the flood. Luckily, I made it across, but then my car brakes became very wet. It was still raining slightly at the time, so the roads were very wet. To ensure that my brakes were effective, I started pumping furiously on the brakes to try and dry them, and at the same time wound down my window. Just then, a car came by suddenly on my right and its tires rolled over a pool of rainwater, and a whole lot of dirty smelly rainwater splashed into my car, dirtying not only my car interior but my face, shirt and pants as well. Yuks!!! It was horrible, I tell you. The worst bath I had in my life!

Here is one for you - a relative owns a car wash and tells me to come in for a free wash. I go there and the van gets a great wash. Of course I have to tip the guys who actually did the washing so several dollars go into the box. As the van is pulled around for me to get in I see that the tire is now flat. A quick look shows a big nail in the tire. The relative helps me put the spare on and sends me to a local service station - the he knows the owner of, tells me to say he sent me, and have the flat fixed. The flat costs $25 to fix, but I am told that it will not hold and the tire should be replaced. The tire luckily has some warranty left but still costs $45 to fix. My FREE car wash wound up costing me $80! I have not been back for any more free car washes! I would rather have had the bird poop!

I have actually heard of this happening to people before and I thought that it was really funny(I probably wouldnt think it was quiet so funny if it were to happen to me now lol) they went and spent about twenty dollars or so on a car wash, and they would get the good package(you know the wax and all of that) and then they would start driving home and start to stop at a redlight and whenever they did out of no where this bird would come along and out of all the cars around splat it poops on their cars!!!LOL

I seem to remember that someone once did research on something like this. It turns out that some colours of car are more susceptible to bird poop than others (I wish I could remember what colour, LOL). Maybe there really is something about the sight of a shiny, newly-washed car that does something very basic to a bird's sphincter. Maybe more research is needed here. I wonder if one could apply for funding for it ...

Really? That is interesting. Maybe the colors are silver and brown? My mom had a brown car some years ago and it always got pooped on by the birds. LOL My car is silver and has gotten bird poop pretty often (though this is the first time it happened right after it got washed) even though I've only owned the car a few months now. I've had a few other colored cars before and I don't remember them ever getting pooped on as much as my current car. LOL

Yes, this happens to me. I dont get too concerned about it. But my husband who is far more meticulous about his car, was very annoyed to see a heap of bird poos all over the front bonnet of his car yesterday.

Not on my car. But when I worked in New Jersey some friends (a married couple) set up a blind date for me, not really my cup of tea, and the three of us went in to NY city and were heading into Tavern on the Green when a bird got me on the shoulder really messing up my suit. Fortunately, I think we were able to wash it off well enough so the girl didn't notice. It didn't matter much however as we didn't hit is off much anyway.

Sure I think this has happened to everyone at some time. Another thing that happens to me is someone splashes me with their car, or it rains, or I go down a gravel road and get dust all over it. But that's just life. You can't not wash your car, being afraid something will dirty it again. Of course it will get dirty again. I washed my car every week whether it needed it or not, just because I was in business for myself and it wouldn't have looked professional for me to drive around in a dirty car. I don't have my car anymore so i don't have to worry about washing it. hehehe

I remember a few years ago, I took my truck to get washed and detailed (which i never usually do). I got the biggest package they got, the bill was 90 some dollars. I took them around maybe 2 hours to get it finished. I was so excited because it looked like if i just pulled out of the dealership. On my way driving back to my house it started raining and raining really hard. So i got home and parked my truck. The next day the wheels were covered with mud, the side had dirt and etc. I was so mad!! 90 bucks down the drain in a couple of minutes.
