i don't have the sort of dvd player that you speak of, but i just wanted to point out that most computer dvd drives can play both ntsc and pal format dvds so that may be helpful to you. watching your dvds on the computer (or hooking up your computer to the tv) may work out cheaper than buying one of these players.
