My daughter is five months, almost six months old, and I swear, sometimes it sounds like she says "hi." I actually think she's been saying that word/making that noise since she was about two and a half months old. No one believes me, but she really has! I swear it! My first word was "ki-ki" which was my version of "kitty kitty" according to my mom. We had a cat and I was always playing with him, I guess. My little brother's first word wasn't ideal though. It happened to start with an S and end with a T and was four letters long! My mom had a hard time explaining it when he busted out with that one in front of company!!!

That is great. I bet you are proud. My daughter just turned 1 a few weeks ago and she is spitting out words so much it is really hard to tell what her first word was. I think it was dada. She says mom-mom, dada, kitty cat, touch, get it, g-g(this is what she calls her grandma), puppy, and a bunch of other words.

How spectacular, I know I waited for a long line of children and grandchildren to come along and say me first, all of my children said mama but only after other words, and all of my grandchildren said nana but only after other words. However my granddaughter Gabby said NANA first and I am so happy.

On that is fantastic! Very cool! When my daughter was that age and her first words that came out were DADA. I was a little jealous!

My young son called papa first before he learned to say mama. It is amazing that a small kid started to call his papa within the year he was not one year old yet. I am so happy to hear my son calling me papa. Now he can speak more words like brother. Every progress a child makes is a great happiness to the parents.

My daughter was so upset because my grandson said DUCK first. LOL He said duck for about a month and then finally said dada. It was about 2 months later when he finally said mama and then the very next day he said Lola (that's what he calls me).
