I never really thought about this until last week when all my kids were sick at the same time, who do they want the most mommy or daddy? My kids want mommy no matter what. I feel like I was put through the ringer last week trying to take care of all three of them together. I had three sick kids wanting to be held and wanting mommy to lay down with them and snuggle. There were alot of sleepless night going back and forth from my sons to my daughter. My husband would try to help by rocking them and laying down next to them but all he heard was screams of I want mommy, not daddy!!!! I would go in there and within five minutes they were calmed down. They wouldnt let daddy give them medicine either, it had to be mommy. When my two year old daughter would wake up I would hold her until my sons needed me and I would hand to daddy so he could rock her. Five minutes later she comes in their room crying and screaming she mommy, mommy mommy!!! My husband said honey I tried but she wouldnt let me calm her down. He would hug me and say your rhe best wife and mom a man could ever have. I would look at him and say at least your trying to help with the kids, I appreciate it. I know when I was growing up I always wanted my mom no matter what. My dad tried as well but it was just never the same. My mom could always make the worst cold or stomach ache not seem so sever when she would hold me and rub my hair. Mom always had the magic touch and to this day I miss her the most when I am sick and I want her to rub my hair and say mom is here, you will feel better soon. So now my kids need mommys magic touch and I do my best to make sure that mom makes them feel better, but sometimes it would be nice if daddy had that same magic touch.

i think, most of the kids if become really sick they wanted their moms because mommy really a good doctor right? me, too, if i will get sick it's my mom who'se always there to take care of me..daddy is not that really warm in taking care of children..moms always have the magic of healing, the touch, the hug, the kiss..it's really different feeling..yah, your right mom always had the magic of touch..

I think my children will love to be with the mother better than the father. Maybe because I spend time longer with them compare to my husband so they are more closed to me. Especially when they are sick, they always want me to be near them all the time.

I forgot to say that I agree, it would be very nice if they would give us mom's a break sometimes. But I guess it is fine because it is nice knowing that she needs me.

My daughter always wants me more than her daddy. For the most part woman are the comforting ones. The ones that do most of the taking care of I think it is just natural.

My kids want me usally but some times they want daddy. i agree would be nice if daddys had the same magic touch as mommies. i did not have a daddy when i was young but the person i wanted the most was my grandma. still to this day if somthing gose bad or i need mommy advice i call grandma.

As I explained to my husband who got really upset because my daughter wants NOTHING to do with him when she is sick its mommy when they dont feel good and daddy if they are scared. He use to get so upset because he like any parent wanted to comfort her when she wasnt feeling well and she was mean to him and had nothing to do with him it was all about me. With my sched. she about drove me nuts. Mom is by far the hardest job on the planet.

They definately want mommy. If my son is sick or falls hard enough to cry...he comes running to me. Which I just love, because I love to cuddle them and take care of them. It breaks my heart sometimes and it can be difficult and just plain wear you out, but I wouldn't want it any other way :)
