I passed an enjoyable hour last evening watching a documentary about Queen Elizabeth before she became a queen. She was a lovely young princess, and I found the storyline nicely taking you from the teen Elizabeth, through her budding romance with her future husband, and the eventual wedding with all the pomp and circumstance. Woven throughout were details of events of England's struggles in the post-war 40s, family footage, and the young princess's service to her country. I am an admitted Anglophile who loves stories involving the Royal Family, and I think that this amazing woman is one of the greatest women in history. What do you think of Queen Elizabeth?

The term Anglophile is new and interesting to me.I think that I am one.I always adore the Royal family especially the queen. It al started with her coronation splendor.I think that is one of the most beautiful things etched in my memory.

Those are the memories that will always linger in our hearts soothing and comforting us among the miseries we come across as we grow old.It is a very personal feeling that nobody else can fathom however close they maybe.

I sincerely believe, bala, that my love of the Royalty began back when I was a child. I grew up reading every fairy tale I could get my hands on.

I am a staunch royalist and I love everything about the lives of the royal family, I think it would really be an awful life being under the microscope all the time, Queen Elizabeth is a strong woman and was very beautiful in her younger days, there is a show coming on here in Australia soon I think ..a year in the life of the Roylas, I must remember to watch it....

I would love to see that show, lilaclady. And, I agree that Queen Elizabeth was indeed quite a lovely young lady. She is still a handsome woman today.

She has always been my favorite Royal. I love that her marriage was a love match not an arrangement. And I was so proud of her when he bowed her head as Diana's coffin rolled by.to see her bow her head , finally giving her the respect was great. I also like that she likes horse racing. They tell me that she has a good sense of humor too. Long Live the Queen!

She is truly a remarkable woman, sarah, and I love the fact that she has remained steadfast under all the public scrutiny surrounding the antics of the other Royals.

For a minute I thought you were talking about the other Queen Elizabeth but I was like wait she didn't get married, and then I realize you were talking about the current Queen. I don't know very much about her. I am not as interested in current Queens as past ones, all I know of her is from watching the movie The Queen.

You should do some research on her, Aurone! She has led a very interesting and honorable life. She took on tremendous responsibilities at an early age with determination. She is about as close to perfect as any woman I've heard about.

I am not from Europe... but i deeply admire Queen Elizabeth... She took on the role of Queen of one of the most powerful nations in the world at a very young age... and she did it with grace, integrity, and wisdom... she is worthy of the name Elizabeth since the first England Queen to have that name turned the country into a very powerful empire... i just hope that the one who will succeed him will continue on the work that she started...

I think she is amazing, she has committed her life to the service of the country and even at 90 she is still out there performing public duties every day. I couldn't possibly do it. And Prince Phillip has my admiration too!
