I worked night shift for a long time as both a Law Enforcement Officer and an employee at a hospital. I will say that it is a different way of life for sure, but I actually kind-of liked it. I was single when I was working night shift, so it wasn't much of an issue, but it would probably be hard to work night shift if you were married and had kids. Most jobs that have night shifts running offer more money to people who work nights. That is one good benefit of nights. I don't see any reason that it would be unhealthy as long as you can get used to sleeping during the day time. I used to get home between 7 & 9 a.m., and I would usually go straight to bed and sleep until about 3 or 4 p.m. That meant that I had the evenings to do whatever I wanted to do until I had to be at work at night. It wasn't a bad lifestyle at all.
