To me a friend is someone who is there for you through think and thin, good and bad unconditionaly offering you honest advice and conversation wihtout predjudice. Then there are the occasional friends in which I have no use for and highly think those are the friends you dont need they only call or come around when they want something from you. They dont want to here the truth they only want you to agree with them and they take you for granted. True Blue friends are hard to find now a day's. So what is your definition af a true blue friend?

What you are talking about is the difference between friends and acquaintances. A true blue friend isn't the one you called to bail you out of gaol - it's the person sitting in there beside you saying "we mucked up!" No, really, the true blue friend is the one who knows everything about you and likes you anyway. The one you can call in tears at any time of the night and they never say "do you know what time it is?" They are very rare, and to be truly treasured. I have many good friend, lots of acquaintences, but only 2 true-blue friends. One I married, and the other stood beside me and held my flowers.

People come into our lives for a reason, just as we come into theirs for a reason. Perhaps that's the life-lesson that you are meant to teach her? Sometimes it's not until many years later that the "reason" becomes clearer.

I think a true friend is very much like what you described above. someone who will have respect for your desires, beliefs, and relationships, who will always be honest, will listen to you and help you through all your problems, they'll keep your secrets secret and never take your friendship for granted.

thank you. Some people can not wrap their heads around things like this and that is why they will never expeirence the good thing of a true blue friend. I have seen alot of people that only enjoy spreading and creating havac it is like they thrive on it.

My definition of a true blue friend is just like yours, and I only have one. And I am one to her. When she decided to move back home to my area after being away fro 3 years, she called me, and asked if I could come help her mover her stuff, and her horse. (She didn't have a horse trailer.) I made the 8 hour drive out to get her and her horse and her belongings. I wasn't worried about the cost of gas, I was just there for her. A few years later, when I was getting married, she drove and hour and a half in a snow storm to get to my wedding to be my maid of honnor. That's a true blue friend. I've been her shoulder to cry on, and she's been mine. I've been her person to vent to and she's been mine. We're always honnest with each other and we're not afraid to speak the truth to each other.
