Hi everybody, feel free to share all the unpleasant experiences u faced regardless of u being a customer or a service crew or sales person :) For me, i was once a service crew for 5 yrs and i encounter lots of unpleasant attitudes from some customers b4.. The worst one was the most ridiculous one of all.. A couple came to dine with their 2 kids and while serving their drinks, my fren accidentally spill abit of plain water on the father and so my fren together with some other staffs quickly went to clear up and apologize to him.. We tot the matter is settled as he accepted it.. But wat's shocking is that after they had done eating, they complained to our manager for that incident, and even ask for some coupons or vouchers for compensation.. In the end, my manager decide not to charge them for the meal as their meal only coast $50+ while the voucher is $100.. After the customers left, we were talking and also wondering, how can they be like that, and isit the right attitude as a customer?? Even so, customer isn't always right in this case because he played us out by pretending..

hmmmm... i think you should have spill more water in his face so that it will worth the complain! haha just kidding! well, there will always be customers like that...taking advantage of the situations and not minding how their complain will affect those employees involved...and i hate such people thinking of themselves as if they are gods of the service crews... well, i have lots of experience when it comes to this matter for i have been working as a cashier, customer service in my whole working years...i am always a front liner getting all the complaints & demands of the customers whether in person or in phone! what i never forget is this incidence that happens in the video shop where i first work, i am new there when i come across this arrogant customer, he gets really mad on me when i refused to accept his membership application in the shop since he was not able to meet the requirements...he just showed me an id saying that he's working for the mayor but i still don't accept him coz i told him that we need 2 valid id's! he gets mad coz he thinks that his id is that powerful...i explain everything to him in a polite manner but he's still mad & even shouted at me...i feel a bit scared that time...but its just good that my manager is there to the rescue, he told me to go to the office first, and he talk to the guy...i think he gives consideration to him just to stop him from talking & shouting... after that, the manager talk to me and comfort me, since he saw how nervous i am and i actually cry due to that incident...hehe i feel really bad about that man since i know that i am just doing what is being said to us and what i know is right...he's being so arrogant just because he's working for the mayor! huh!i want to curse him! and another one, when i am in duty free, i encounter this one celebrity here, her face is familiar to me, but when she's already paying, she uses her credit card...and as s.o.p i asked for her id/passport but it shows different names, and so i asked for anther id which have the same name in her credit card...but instead of giving me an id, she gets mad on me...and call the supervisor instead! the supervisor talks to her and me, i just keep calm in one side and still smile on her and say thanks after the transaction! haha

lol =D Such a lonnggggggggggggggggggggggg post, which makes me scared!! lol =D BUt anyway, yeah, being in the service sector, that's what we have to face, and no matter what, we can only put up with it!! Some customers, will always think they are always in the right, but that's often NOT the case.. lol =D So what if he's working for the mayor?? The land and shop does not belong to the mayor, and thus, what special priviledges does he have?? haha =D I hate customers like this!! hehe I always believe in this saying, undo what others do to u.. hehe ^_^

YEah!! After all, we are earning our livings, and why must they be so evil or be so bad to us?? As such, i always like to be working in the F&B scector, because that's why i'm able to take my revenge on customers like this.. lol =D haha =D THere was this incident too.. WHereby a customer, claiming to be a manager from Amara hotel in singapore, got my manager sacked just because he felt insulted, when we tell him his credit can work, and we refused to call the credit card company for him!! WHAT?!?!! That's too degrading!! I definitely wont knee down for sure!! I will rather he slap him, before calling the police, and say he assaulted me!! lol =D

haha...sorry! im carried away! haha well, i think all of us hates such kind of customers! i even hate more those who degrades other people...when all of us will gonna die someday! hehe well, that's the problem to some, when they are working for an influencial & powerful person, they think that they are equally powerful or influencial! they are like mosquitoes over a carabao! haha they think that they are higher/bigger than the carabao! i remember, there's one incidence in duty free and it was on news, when there's this one arrogant customer who gets really mad to the cashier and he say bad things to him and he even asked the cashier to kneel down in front of him and say sorry, or else he will slap him! huh! i really feel bad for him and i pity the cashier for what happened!

hi kun! ^__^ what a cunning customer! i mean, not cunning in a good way but cunning in a bad way. he made sure they can enjoy the meal first before complaining. i'm sure he had thought of that while the staff and your friend was apologizing. he knew that the manager would give in to his demands. what an azz. i work in a government agency and at times, i have to face some clients and entertain them to the best i can. but there was this client who i couldn't handle because she was old and domineering and thinks highly of herself and i just hate people like that and so even if i wanted to respect her i just can't help but be pissed. she was complaining about something and she wanted to see our boss who was absent that day. my officemates came to listen to her and help me but it was our boss who she wanted to see. and when she didn't get anything out of us, she began insulting all of us, our way of service and even our boss. i couldn't take it and i was becoming mad so i exited the scene and calmed myself. i think she went to a different department and made complaints too. .

i know. that's what sucks with public service, you have to smile every minute, every second to your client/customers and be polite. i always do that the best way i can and it was just that client that really ticked me off to my limit. so i had to get away. i didn't want to give basis to her accusations and complaints and make them all come true. and what you said is true, she maybe the client now and me the public servant but the world is round and we could change positions in the future. she should remember what goes around, comes around. ^__^

yeah, secret.. Some may just wanna take revenge only, because they themselves are the victims of such abuse by other ple, and so they wanna vent it out on other ple also in the service sector so that they can feel better and feel good.. But their thinking is wrong in that way ^_^

hehe.. That's good that u know how to go away at the right time to cool down and not fall into her trap by turning against her on the spot.. LOL ^_^ The best way to deal with this kinda ple is to let them talk and we just keep to our stand, even if they starts to complain, just keep smiling.. iN the end, they will be one to be pissed as they cant seem to piss u off.. LOL ^_^ And this is wat i learn from my experience.. hehe For my case, because of customers like this, thus ple cant always say that staffs are rude or wat, but is, customers should watch their attitude too, if not, 1 day let them be staffs while i be customer and treat them the same way.. haha

yeah, i do understand.. Everybody is trying to earn a living too and there isn't a need to be so fierce and agressive towards ple.. We are humans, we have feelings too.. Regardless of customers or any service sector, there are bound to be black sheeps that started all this problem and we are the ones who have to suffer even though we are just doing our jobs..

Some people have this tendency to take advantage of a certain situation... just like the family... maybe at first they did not mind but eventually conjured up something where in they can get the meal they had for free...as part of the customer service sector... we cannot complain because... as you wrote her... "The Customer is Always Right"... and without them... there will be no business at all

Yup, u are right, some customers do take advantage of situations like this and wat can we do?? Nothing.. because if they were to complain to head office, we are still the ones to suffer, because, i believe not much companies will standby your own staffs and lose business by offending the customers or clients.. For sure, i know my company wun protect our interest..

Customer is not always right. Everyone must fight for what they think is true. This is seriously the first time i've heard of a story like this.

Hie Kun, there are always people like that everywhere, sneaky and waiting to take the full advantage of others. It was just your unlucky day and you did the right thing corrected it. Well! As for that guy, perhaps some day he might not get that lucky No doubt he has every right to make a complaint but his demands should be fair. I have situations that some nasty & fussy customers would look for any easy way out to pick on minor mistakes so that they could get discounts or escape from paying altogether. Cheers and happy posting!
