having children in the house putting back covers properly is one of the problems i have. specially when they are younger. covers of sugar, cookie jar, toothpaste, pringles.... i can go on all day. now that they are teens... well they do it once in a while but it was more of a problem when they were younger. having problems like this?

not only covers, but everything! my nieces and nephew are really a pain in the azz because they would use everything and not put them back in their proper places. and it just annoys me to the nth level. .

When they are younger, I usually get things for them to avoid the cover problem and things are put back where they belong. But as they grow older, I insist that they put it back properly. I've sometimes, made my son close it properly again if I notice it's been happening a couple of times in a row. But it doesn't happen anymore (he's 7 now). I don't remember not putting back covers properly when I was younger and I think since I would insist and remind my son everytime he took something, we got into the habit now.

that's interesting. I don't think i had problems with this. because in my house and climate if we do not put back the covers then the ants will get in and the whole container of food will be spolit and that would REALLY get us in trouble with our parents. i guess sometimes mothers don't want to nag, but the behaviour of their kids makes it such that they have no choice but to do so.

here too, the major problems are the ants. its hard to disipline kids specially whhen they see someone who does not put the covers and they would think that it is okay. thanks for the response
