Associated Content:: Virus Issues?

Every time I go on Associated Content, outside of the front page, I get inundated by viruses and spyware. I would love to do some writing for this site, or even just read the articles. But I cannot put up with my firewall literally flaring with the traffic. Am I the only one? Surely there must be a lot of people suffering this... do people know what they are and why AC has so many of these programmes attempting to get access to my computer?
