What reasons do you find to throw parties? There are the typical Birthday, Holiday, Anniversary, Major Sporting events reasons, but what else.
Do you just plan one day out of nowhere to throw a party 2 Saturdays from now and invite people over just because?
What kinds of parties do you throw or attend and what are the reasons for them?

I don't have parties unless they are birthday parties and I attend those .. I usually tend to have get togethers though. the get togethers are just basically a bunch of my friends just hanging out and having fun and maybe we end up going to a bar once in a while but really it's just having fun and hanging out at my place.LOL!!

How sad is this? I don't throw them. The last time I had one was in July for my son's second birthday- we just threw a barbeque..
I need to throw one for no reason maybe. I never have anyone over unless they just pop by.
I do have a lot going on so this is probably at this moment one of the last things that I would have come to mind.

I don't throw parties anymore and don't attend them either. The only ones we seem to go to and have are kiddies birthday parties.
But before I was married, my parents would regularly throw parties or attend some....they were mostly celebrations of something...like the typical ones.
I come from a huge extended family and usually when we are home for the vacation, we just plan to have a party for the whole family....sometimes we'll all just be sitting and talking and we decide we need to have a party and we might have it that same day or the next....and it's loads of fun with around 60 people there.

I tend to make it a party whenever and wherever possible. Like the dude above said, when I'm with friends, I pretty much consider it a party. And hey, I broke a nail yesterday, and I went out and partied last night! I figure that any excuse will do as a reason to have, participate in, or go to a party. Fun is number one, or at least way high up there, in my book. If you can't have fun, then what's the point?

If I can think of a good enough reason to throw a party, I will. I threw one a few years back, because I was breaking up with my boyfriend that day, and knew I would be depressed afterwards, so I wanted a lot of my friends around to help me feel a little better. I'm also planning a party as soon as I move back to Dayton, where all my friends are. Basically, all it will be is food, drinks, and watching the entirety of the TV series Firefly in order. I'm thinking of including the movie Serenity at the end, even. I figure, if you feel like partying, go for it. Especially if you're in college. College is when you're supposed to party.
