How do you choose which discussions to answer?

Is it the number of responses the discussion already has? Is it the title? Is it that a friend started the discussion?

Usually it's the title that catches my eye. Occasionally it's the avatar- that I recognize someone's & have enjoyed their posts before. I usually look by going through "discussions from my interests" rather than "started by my friends". Some of the people I have added as friends post dozens & dozens of posts that aren't all that interesting.

Its usually the topic. If it interests me and I actually have some kind of comment about it I will answer it.

I respond if I can freely talk. Means that I am sure what I am saying and it agrees with my ethics. I don't respond to posts that are story long and in the end, I don't really know what to say.

it's usually the topic. If it interests me or feel that I can contribute significantly to the discussion I usually reply.

I just browse around starting with friends and going from there, and I reply to the discussions I find interesting.

Well to start off I usually skim through some that are on my interests list. Sometimes I will sit and read a few from one topic and not find anything. Then I will proceed to another topic and will find one right off the bat. I think it depends on the content in order for me to respond. The title don't mean to much cuz it could be something off the wall that someone titled it to get more readers, it could be someone's discussion's I have read before. I also find that I respond to a lot of the newbie posts when they say hi I'm new ...... (if there isn't to many responses).

Well, for me, a lot of it depends on the mood I am in, and what I might be interested in answering for the day. From time to time, I know there are days when I cannot think of much I even want to try answering, and then there are days like today I am coming on here and answering a lot of them. But a lot of times, I do check out what some of my friends have started as New discussions that I have not answered yet, and then go from there. I do make sure when I respond to a discussion though, it is one that I can honestly respond too instead of just answering to be answering for that 1 cent it could earn.

I only respond to those discussions which really interests me. I will never answer any topics which are not within my ability. I do try to pick interesting topics from friends’ discussions. I utterly never bother about the number of responses of a discussion when choosing a discussion to answer.

I usually answer based on how quickly I automatically come up with a response, or something I'm truly interested in. Sometimes when I'm just trying to make money, or just totally bored, I'll go through and answer anything I can come up with a decent answer for.

I browse through my friends' discussions from email notifications first. If I have something to offer, I'll do those first. Then I'll start from my home page in any number of ways looking for discussion topics that I can contribute to without have to wrack my brain for something to say. I try to make my time on here fun, not stressful thinking of conversation. If spending time here becomes too much like work, I'll probably cut down on the time spent....Whit

I will usually start with answering discussions of my friends. It's where I look for new topics. If I have extra time, I'll look at the news stories.

I choose topics to respond to based on whether I have thoughts on the subject. Being a friend doesn't matter, nor does how many other responses. If "I don't know" is my thought, I skip it. How do you choose, ers???

it has nothing to do with with number of responses, or that a friend wrote it. first, i start with the title, and if i like it ill look at the discussion. and if the discussion is good and if its something that i can write about, then i respond. but i do start with my friends discussions first, then i go to other peoples discussions.

The way that I choose what to answer and what not to answer is if I have an answer to their problem(like if they said they didn't know how to do something and I did know how to do it I would tell them how they could do it to make it work or whatever the problem might be)or if they need advice on something and I think that i might have an answer that could possibly help them on their problem then I would answer....I think that that what alot of people do is just give their input on things here on mylot and hope that it works!

I usually respond to a discussion if it has a catchy title, though I do usually look through my friends discussions first to see if I can find any this way. From there I go to today's top discussions and new discussions. By the time I'm done looking through these I have posted my fill am done for the night on mylot. :)

The number doesn't matter to me, the title might intrigue me to read further, doesn't matter if its someone I have on my friends list. What I will respond to is something I can identify with or something I feel I have some knowledge of.

Before giving response to a certain discussion I read first the title and the contents then read the responses, if I will find I have something to share which is still not listed or not yet shared I will reply. To some discussion which has no reply yet, I usually reply only if I am sure of what to reply. It is hard to try to reply to a topic you didn't understand and just response for the sake of increasing number of posts. The discussion I been responding does not disclose to my friends discussion only. I normally browse the page from today's top discussion to new users discussion and sometimes go to discussion from my interests. the only time I response to old post is when I find it below on the related topics.
