Which is yours? Cooking on a gas stove or do you like electric better?

I like electric better. I am going to change my gas stove with new electric one. It is easier to clean and faster to cook...

I prefer gas for the cooking, rather than electric. However using gas stoves to cook has been linked some to asthma and other respiratory issues, especially in children, so I'd like to get away from using it.

I never knew that gas stove were linked to asthma. HMMM Goes to show I learn something new everyday. I can not cook on a electric stove without burning dinner.

I prefer gas stoves, but I am stuck using am electric one. I am getting used to the difference between the two. My big thing is remembering that the burners stay hot a lot longer on an electric stove than on a gas stove.

I like electric. For some reason I mistrust open flame. Still, I'm not a great cook so it doesn't really matter.

I don't have a big preference. I grew up with gas stoves but have since then always had electric...both just take some getting used to I think.

I grew up with gas stoves and had them for years. One thing I don't like about gas is the odor and despite what they say, I don't feel as safe with it. Now I also don't like electric stoves with the coiled burners. Just as nasty to clean as gas. What I do like, no make that love, is a smooth top electric stove. Easy to clean, looks good, etc. I wouldn't have wanted one of these when the kids were younger though. Too easy to burn a hand on top. But now, I'm after easy does it...Whit

Although I don't like lighting a burner when its needed, I prefer gas because when you turn off the heat, the response is immediate. You don't have to wait for it to cool down and in the meantime worry about it overcooking your food.

I actually have heard of people trying gas stoves and they really dont like them at all and neither do I...I mean I guess everyone has their picks but everyone that I have heard of likes electric better because they heat up faster than the others that they have tried and I would say the same thing about them too...and i just dont like cooking with gas stoves becuase there is just something about them that doesnt feel right and it just gives me a feeling and i am not comfortable with them at all!!!!!

i grew up with an electric stove so i used to hate gas ones. but once i moved out on my own all i had were gas stoves and it didn't take long before i came to love them. i find you have a lot more control when cooking with a gas stove and you don't have to wait nearly as long for the burners to either heat up or cool off.
