I Am Afraid For My Friend

The guy that I talk about who is an alcoholic was busted drinking in his room in the board and care where we live. Now, his girlfriend says that he has started drinking in the bathroom at the Burger King next door. I do not hang around either one of them anymore, but I talk to her on the phone today. When she told me this, the first thing that I thought about is that this is a resturant that kids like to go to. They have already chased him from in front of Burger King several times for pan handling to buy beer. He is a very nice guy and I would hate for him to get in trouble for something like this. I think that drinking in a place where alcohol is not serve and that kids frequent is just not a good idea at all. I am also scared for the kids who would run into him. I hate caring about these two, because I end up in the middle all the time. I do not understand why I keep caring or even more, why she continues to confide in me when she knows how strongly I feel about this kind of behavior. And I just thought of another thing, my twenty year old niece goes to the school right across the street. Well I just hope and pray that she is watching her diet, because I would hate for her to run into him. But, what can I do?

You are right, it is very natural for me to want to help people. I do not feel right about over looking anyone in trouble. I also would not want it done to me.

Awww man it's getting worse isn't it. Now he's drinking at a public place which I'm sure no sooner or later he will get arrested. Whether that is a good thing or not, it might be a blessing in disguise, sorry to say Rozie. Something needs to happen to both of them to see where they are heading because they themselves can't or refuse to see it themselves. They are so lucky to have you in their lives. Dayum lucky!!!!

This is exactly what I told his girlfriend today. Him being arrested would be a blessing. When he starts going through withdrawal, they will have to put him in treatment. I just hope he does not go right back to it. He is going to need family or something to help him stay clean.

it's a nice thing thing that you care about others, it just means that you loved them... as long as you do your part, there's nothing wrong with it... at the end it's their decision if they would listen to you
