Movng Stories

I've moved 14 times, that I recall lol. Some of the moves were harder than others, depending on how far the move was and the circumstances, 3 of those moves involved divorce. 5 of those moves involved moving to another city and one involved moving 1600 miles across country. Normally it doesn't take me long to get re-organized, because I pack and lable everything. I normally pack a box or bag of things I'll need a couple of days before and after the move. The hardest move as far as getting re-organized was the one across country, I brought with me what would fit in my car, a small car at that, lol. Then I went back a year and half later and brought another car load back with me, stuff I had stored at my mom's.

When we were growing up, we didn't move at all! When I got married, and had a family, we moved around quite a bit, and I hated moving, even now that ;my family is grown, I still don't like to move! Yes, I enjoy staying put in one place! Now I do like to travel, I've traveled around quite a bit, but I always come home!

I can't even begin to remember how many times I moved. My worst move was from FL to PA. It was a great move now that we are here and settled in but the actual move part was horriable! When we were ready to leave we realized the trailer had a flat so we had to wait for it to get fixed. On our way somewhere in North Carilonia our trailer caught of fire and had to have to fire department come and put the fire out on the interstate. The we should have been closing on our house they day we got to PA but had to delay it because of all the stops. We also found out that my husband didn't have the job we thought he was promissed. Then the loan company called to tell us we lost the loan for the house (reasons still unknown) So we lived out of a hotel for about 2 weeks with our stuff still in the Uhaul until we found an apartment to rent. That had to be the hardest worst move yet. Now that we have bought a house and are all moved in if I ever have to move again. I am taking just what I have to and the rest can stay! I won't do it again!

Apparently, as a small child in NJ we moved several times, but I don't remember them. We moved once when I was 9, again when I was 19. Then I moved into a place of my own. That place was in another city, but it was a furnished apartment so when I moved back to my home town, all I needed was a smallish uhaul trailer, and some friends with a car with a trailer hitch. I then have moved twice since then, the last time 24 yrs ago. And if I NEVER move again, it'll be too soon!

Just in the last 4 years I've moved 4 times. The most recent was 3 weeks ago. I HATE moving! Hopefully we will be here for a good long time. The sad part of all this moving is it has been within 10 miles of each other. ARGH! I don't know for sure how many times I have moved in my life. It's been quite a few.
