Still cleaning up her mess!!! 5 months later

I started a job in Aug of 07. For 6 years the same girl was here and then in between her and I there was a girl we will call "Pam" EVERY thing she touched she messed up. For 3 months she filled wrong, didn't pay bills, did payroll wrong, and every thing else. My first month here was spent fixing mistake after mistake. Now 5 months later I am still finding things! Have you ever had this happen? Have you ever had such a mess you don't even know where to begin?

Why do you have to fix her mistakes? Shouldn't you let her mistakes go to the manager? Then they will have to either train her properly or replace her with somebody who can do the job properly.

She was fired and I took her place. So I have to fix the mistakes that she made. I don't know too many companys that wouldn't fire some one that made all those mistakes. There was no training on this job you either know how to run an office or you don't ... She didn't even though the temporay agency she was sent from said she did. I on the other hand do know how to run an office. There is no manager here its the owners and the Assistiant - which is now me.
