What is meant by the term "committed", when a person is in the relationship ?

To me it means a person is exclusive with their partner. They are only seeing them and no one else. They may have long term future plans to be in the relationship with just that one person. You are willing to stick it out with just one person through the good and bad. That's what committed means to me. Married or not.

Its something similar to the commitment to the work.when you are committed in a relationship.it means you have to give your hundred percent in that.you have to love,care and ready to sacrifice for the person with whom you are having a sound relationship.but nowadays commitment seems to be just a word used.nobody is so damn serious about relationships.
