I got an ad in the mail today with some really cool suggestions. For example to get rid of age spots you mix 1/2 cup of plain yogurt with 1 tablespoon of grated horseradish and refrigerate. Dab on age spots daily and they will dissapear. For arthritis they suggest adding 3-4 drops of cayenne pepper to 1 tsp of olive oil and then rub it in for hours of relief. I don't personally have age spots or arthritis, but there are some other ideas I'd like to try. Do you know of any home made remedies like these that you know for sure work?

You don't make this at home, but I've heard farmers say that horse liniment keeps them from being troubled by arthritis. Knowing that it is the same ingredient in DMSO lotion, when I had a broken leg, I rubbed that on the outside and took MSM supplements and that sure kept it from hurting. At first I had to put it on every day, but then after a while it was every other day, and then every other week. It is good for any kind of muscle strain. Once I tried some on a the outside of my cheek when I had a toothache and it killed that pain right away, too. Miraculous stuff.

I've never heard of this, where would you find it?

My sweetie drinks a cup of water backwards (I would have to show you to explain) to get rid of hiccups. Something about swallowing while compressing your diaphram, but it works every time.

A remedy I discovered by accident:
A number of years ago, I was in the habit of adding a bit of lemon juice to warm water and splashing it over my face to rinse off any soap residue. One spring, after having raked the yard grass to clean up the winter debris, I realized my hands had not blistered (as they had every other year after extensive raking). When I did the fall yard raking, I again noticed that the usual blisters had not form.
My conclusion: something in the diluted lemon juice helped stop the blistering effect.
Now, anytime I have done something that may lead to blisters, I soak my hands in lemon water.

I wonder if this works on your feet, when you wear shoes that cause blisters. I'll have to try it. Thanks.
