Chai and other teas with antioxidants

Most herb teas have the natural antioxidants. Green tea is probably the most popular and well heard of but there are lots of other that might be tastier for some. I love the Chai tea. It's a black tea with cinnamon, ginger, anise seed, cardamom shells, cloves and black pepper. Chai is a preference ( I like Pickwick brand) for me as I have never gotten very hooked on greet tea. Do you drink tea for the health benefits and what is your favorite kind?

went to the com misery yesterday and since I had such a disappointment with my go at green tea I decided to pick up some Chai tea. This is from Bigelow, I could not decide which brand, I have no idea. The box says Spiced Chai, that sounded intriguing to me. but now I see the top of the box reads "Traditional Chai is served with milk and sweetener" The idea of milk and/or sweetener kind of yanks my gag reflex.

I drink it straight and it's wonderful...I don't do cream or sugar in anything. LOL

I have recently developed a taste for hot green tea and am having at least one cup per day. I have pretty much quit drinking coffee. I have been experimenting with other tea flavors such as peppermint, chamomille and lemon. I have been meaning to try Chai tea and just haven't picked any Chai up at the store. Many people have told me that I will probably love the Chai tea once I taste it. Your description of it sounds heavenly, as I love ginger and cinnamon! My reason for drinking tea is that I enjoy the warmth and good taste, but I also love knowing that it has powerful antioxidants!

I have also all but quit drinking coffee except on very rare occasions...and I do like this tea. I am having a hard time really getting to love the green teas. Hope you try it and enjoy it!

I generally stick to the regular teas, but am thinking on getting into decaf and green tea, since i want to lose some weight. I also want to just strictly start drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day since this flushes out your system naturally of impurities too. some of the other ingredients of specialty teas i am not sure of or have to check out because of medication that i need to take, so as it may not interfere.

Yes. I have heard that you have to be careful with herbs...some of them do cause changes in you body....and mix it with meds it might not be the best thing for you to do.

White tea is even higher in anti-oxidants than green tea, so I try to drink a cup of it a day. I've found a brand that does white tea with vanilla that's really nice (I'm a big vanilla fan though!) Chai is lovely too. Especially in the winter months as it's really warming.

Until today I hadn't heard of white tea...I also love vanilla so that might be something to try!
