children's stories

I haven't seen any children's books on Wicca, and since I like to write I was thinking of writing some. What are your thoughts on this? It's just in the thought process right now, so any input you have would be most helpful. Should I write it from a standpoint of a child helping his/her mother prepare for the upcoming holiday & have them ask questions about what they are doing & why.... Give me some ideas.... Do you think it's a good idea? Are there any Wiccan parents that would be interested in children's books if they were available? or have you read or know of any you could suggest to me?

There's the Pagan Kids' Activity Book, by Amber K. It's available at The Magical Blend: www.themagicalblend.com

I would love a book on it. I tried looking for some and couldn't find any. I also tried to find a mythology one, like they do for fairy tales, and couldn't find one of those either. I was playing with the idea of the mythology book but as much as I like writing I'm not very good at it.

I agree about the mythology books for kids. I do like Dysney movies, but when they did Hurcules, I must say I was disapointed. Maybe I'll do some of those too if I can get started on the whole thing.

You described "An Ordinary Girl, A Magickal Child" by W. Lyon Martin. There are books for kids out there if you look hard enough. Not a lot, so if you are a talented writer, give it a go!

wow, thanks, I'll look that one up! my friends and family say I have a gift for writing, but they are bias...lol and I would need a good editor, because my spelling isn't very strong. Thanks for the post!

Personally I would love to see more children's pagan books on the market. I think this is a fabulous idea. I know this is an old discussion but I wanted to add my 2 cents worth. If you have the ideas and ability I say go for it. I don't have little kids anymore but I would still buy them and keep them to send to my pagan friends with little ones. If you end up doing this and get any published, please msg me I want to know where to get them.
