i agree with cynicalandoutspoken. you need patience understanding most of all. you must also learn to be flexible. it's such a coincidence though. i just posted an article on characteristics of a good teacher yesterday at helium. if you're interested, i can send you the link. just let me know if you are. it's not only me, there are others who have done it too and they're quite good too so you can have a look at them. hope this helps. good luck.

I think the #1 quality needed to be a good teacher is patience. A close second is understanding. You need patience to accept that everyone learns at their own pace and understanding to understand that everyone is different. If you show patience and understanding to your students they will show respect for you.

Thank you for the positive response. Yes, I agree that patience and understanding are two best values that a good teacher must possesses. I will try these two values in class and see how it works for me. Once again thank you and have a good day.

With knowledge of your special subject you need to have great confidence to be able to impart what you know about the subject.
This you can gain by experience.
I taught Financial Management in 5 Colleges
for nine years.
I used to an average of 35 students in every class usually older than me.I had two classes a night.
70 X 5 x 9 = 3,150 students.
As their teacher , in a lot of cases I became their personal accountant when they entered into businesses.
