Our local news team has this guy who does test and helps consumers out. This week he did a test to see what dishes contained lead. THe results were shocking to me. My crockpot has lead in it. It is safe acording to the FDA but any lead is to much isnt it? Here is the link to read the story. I think we would be surprised at the things we have, that can make us sick. It is sickening that we have to worry about all this.

You are right. I guess we should just eat drink and be merry. If I was to worry about all the times I have used my crock pot in the past 8 years I could get myself an ulser or something.

Lead has no known function in the human body, not even as a trace mineral. It amazes me how many things we are acutually consuming that are harmful for us, mercury in seafood, for example, and who knows what else we might be eating? I have come to terms with that fact. Worrying over something I have so little control over wouldn't do me much good. However, since you know what is coming from your crockpot, you should probably throw it out and shop for another one that does not contain lead. Because companies import so many goods from other countries that don't have health controls over the substances they use in manufacturing them,we can hardly have total control over all the things we come in contact with.
