Oh get your mind out of the gutter, lol. I had checked a book out of the library about six weeks ago. Since it was a self-help book, I took my time reading it. I had to extend my check out time online. Then when I got to the end of the book, I realized that there was a 21 day action plan and I would only be able to keep the book for a few more days. I went back on line just to be sure that I could not extend it any longer, I couldn't. I did not want to go back to the main library where I checked it out. It is right next to a very busy out door mall type of thing and I did not feel like being bother with the crowd, so I went to a smaller branch. This worked out in my favor. When I got there, they told me that I would have to let the book return to the shelf for about a week to let others have the chance to check it out. But I could check it back out next week. They were going a little overboard with explaining how silly the policy must seem. One lady was shocked that I was not upset, but actually I understood. When the book came up on their computer, they realized that they had the very same book at their branch also. So I was able to check out their copy and leave the other one. They had even offered to put the book on hold for me, but that was no longer needed. I was so happy with the way that things worked out, that I walked the two miles home. I am now very tired. I am going to get off this computer before it gets to late and lie down and start my 21 day action plan to a better me. Catch up with all my friends on Friday. I love you guys, good night.

Well that's good to know you can do that at another branch and not at the one that you checked the book out from. What I don't understand is even though you were going to request to reissue the book, I am not sure why you couldn't do that right off instead of checking it in for a week incase someone else wanted to read it. There is a waitlist or hold option for others to place on the book, and if noone put a hold on it then you should be able to check it out again without any hassles. If a week later after you had reissued it, someone requested it, they can place a hold on your copy or check to see if other public libraries in their area has a copy on their shelves too. The library system in their county should tell them which library has their copy on the shelf and which ones are out. From there theyt can interloan it from whichever library has the book. Make sense? probably not... I'm all blocked up today and have a slight cough GRRR.

You worked at a library in your former life didn't you? Seems like I remember you saying that and this is why you are an expert and I have no idea what you just said, so I will answer by saying, right, hehe.

He,he, I was just being silly with the title. This book has already been a great blessing for me. I am learning how to say "No" when I want to, instead of saying "Yes" when I don't want to. The book is called the disease to please. Thank you for your support and God bless you too.

Yes you are very lucky, I always end up paying late fees to ours because when I do get books to research something I never have enough time to do all my reading and research i need. We don't have any branches for ours it is just the one small local library here, I use the intra-loan alot from other libraries to get most of the books I need. Good Luck with your 21 day action plan.
