Does anyone out there work with crazy people? I do. I swear I could write episodes of The Office! I work with one woman who is in her 40's. She and her room mate are borderline stalkers of a country music singer. She travels all over the country every weekend he is doing a show and she buys him things. Do you remember the My Buddy dolls from the 80's? Well, she bought one from e-bay and dressed it up like this country singer and gave it to him. Before she gave it to him though, she brought it in to show us and had it sitting at our kitchen table all day. After every show of his, she's been to about 60 or 70, she brings in roll after roll of film to show us. It's virtually the same picture of this guy singing! I have never in my life worked with someone who was so odd! Lets hear all your crazy work stories!!!

I do work with some odd people, but none as extreem as you discribed. I'm sure a lot of the employees I work with would say I am a bit strange, of course just looking at me you would think the same before getting to know me, then you would comfirm your supicions. There are a few brown nosers at work who try and dress like me in the beginning think they will empress me with ther clip on's, as if. There is one woman who looks as though she is talking to her self sometimes, and a guy that seems to be to chipper for his own good. The world could be at it's end and he would still find something to smile about.

Your comment made me smile! I know we are all odd in our own way. My friend has a saying "everyone is someone else's weirdo" and I think that is so true. Some are weirder than others though!

That is an interesting and true statement, I can't believe I never heard of it before. I'll have to use it sometime and see if anyone else has heard of it.

Only one? We are trying to figure out if my workplace attracts crazy people or drive them crazy. There are several cases but the most prominent was this woman who was about to retire. She was a secretary who instead of answering the phone, called her boyfriend. She had to open and close classrooms at a given time of the day and she kept trying to close them with the students still inside. She switched doctors because some of them wanted her to check into a mental institution. Stuff like that. There is this other man that cleans the floor and leaves the trashcan over my desk. He decides were we should place our shelves and which lights should be on. There is another secretary who is really old, a great person and very efficient. However, when she walks down the hall, she bangs on the walls and the doors (our doors) to the rythm of her footsteps and goes choo choo like a train. And don't get me start about my boss.

Oh my, do I ever! There is a man I work with. One night, another male co-worker and I were leaving to take the trash out when we ran into the weird co-worker. He was wearing a white lab coat that he swiped from the meat department (we work in a grocery store). I said to weird man, 'What, do you think your a doctor?' He said, 'Yep, I'm a proctologist!' The other male co-worker said to him with an expression on his face that could only be described as horror, 'Isn't that the doctor who sticks his finger up your butt?' Weird co-worker said, 'Yep, that'd be the one!' Needless to say the other male co-worker pretty much skedaddled away from him, and then we couldn't stop laughing, we laughed all the way to the trash compactor, to the time clock and I was even laughing on my way home. It was the look on my co-worker's face, priceless!!!

I work with a bunch of wackos, I being one of them. I like to think of us as one big dysfunctional family. It sounds like you have at least something to amuse you at work. We have this one woman who enjoys nothing better than to make up stories and if she were alive during woodstock I think she would say she was there! One day she came in late and said she was late because she went to Vancouver to watch the Canucks play the night before. Funny thing was they played in Pittsburgh the night before and our hockey freak in the office laughed until he almost puked. This is just one of her fabulous lies that keep us amused for days. I guess every office is a little whacky!

Years ago when I worked in London I used to eat in a cafe opposite my office. Another guy used to come in each day, order his meal and then spend the time whilst he waited for his order pulling imaginary threads from out of his hands. Initially we found it pretty creepy, but as time went on we used to look forward to seeing this oddball and his hand mania. Wonder what he is doing now.
