Why do you think the US is so violent?

I just heard on the news about a college shooting in Louisiana that left several dead. Every day on my local news you hear about people killing or beating each other. Lately a lot of people have been beaten up on the bus. Just the other day a man threw his three year old off a bridge because he was having custody problems with the mother. I don't get it.

Personally, I think all these people commiting violent acts are just nuts. I can't say I know why this is going on, but people these days just don't care most of the time. I think partially it is because they disassociate themselves with what they are doing in order for it to be okay in their eyes.
