I do. My husband has been sick with the flu these past few days and I think he has passed it onto me. My nose won't stop running, I have an itchy throat and a slight headache as well.
I should of gotten the flu shot when I had the chance but oh well, at least the sun is shining, so that's a plus lol.
How are you feeling today?

I had two viruses back to back, over Christmas and New Year. They hung around for about six weeks and then all of a sudden, they were gone!
I hope you get better soon. It's miserable not being able to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.
Brightest Blessings to you and your hubby for a speedy recovery. x

Mine tended to go to my chest and stay there a while but have you tried Olbas Oil to clear your nose and head? It's Eucalyptus based. I also took a strong flue remedy, with red berries, which might help. Mine was Beecham's but I don't know what brands are available to you.
Brightest Blessings and please do get better soon. x

Oh that had to be horrible having two viruses back to back. I'm glad you were able to recover from that Darkwing. I went to bed a little earlier than normal and do feel slightly better but still clogged up. Thanks for responding.

There are so many medicines to choose from and I'm not even sure whether they work either. I would rather just have a hot steamed bath with vicks and or have my husband rub vicks on my back and chest at night. Even have a lemon drink or something.
He has had a nasty cough and refuses to see a doctor. I think that would be the only time I would see one if my cold got really bad. Thanks for responding lilybug!

I don't like ear infections either - they really hurt for me!

I'm good today, though I still suffer a slight pain on my tooth. It's been aching for the past three days, since the wind is blowing hard here and it's very cold though the sun was also shining.
Good thing for me, the last I suffered such flu was when my stock of Ascorbic Acid ran out. I think that was month's ago, but I'm glad that I've been taking it again so I haven't been catching any runny nose nor coughing.

Actually, what you describe sounds more like allergies, but I could be wrong. Didn't I do a topic last year about getting your flu shot? Didn't you say you were going to get one? Are you hard headed? LOL, just make sure that Maddy gets a flu shot. With his respiratory issues, it could be a major problem if he gets a cold or the flu.

I'm happy to hear the sun is shining where you are because it's snowing here in Boston and I'm forgetting what the sun looks like! I've had a sore throat and swollen glands all week and now I feel like I'm getting conjunctivitis...just what I need. The whole thing started out with the sniffles last week and I thought I was getting the cold that everyone seems to have but it seems to have settled more in my throat which is fine with me because I hate the runny nose and stuffy head thing. I don't get the flu shot because of my asthma and I could never figure out why that is but I follow my doctors advice.

haha I like your picture ctry.
I know my husband was told that he needs to take a flu shot every year now that he has diabetes, and I also need to ask my sons doctor about taking one too since he was diagnosed recently of having a slight case of asthma. I wonder if they do really work?
Thanks for the response even though the weather is not too great where you are :)

It is interesting that your doctor would tell you not to get a Flu shot when you have Asthma. My doctor says that I should make sure I get one every year BECAUSE I have asthma.
A few years ago, there was a shortage of Flu shots and my doctor didn't get any. The city of Los Angeles were only giving them out to people who had to have them. I went down to a free clinic where they had them and I had to prove that I had asthma before they would give me the shot.
If you do some research online you will find that it is highly reccommended that people with respiratory illnesses get a flu shot every year. Asthma with a cold or the flu can be life threatening. But, then on the other hand, everyones ASthma is different. If I were you I would ask my doctor why he thinks you don't need one. Just my 2 cents.

Thats a long time for a virus to hang around. I hope my sniffles don't get worse. Thanks for your comment.

I hope you will soon feel better. I have not colds so often because I eat a lot of antioxidants but if I catch a cold, I make some garlic soup or eat garlic in some other way. It is the most efficient help when the cold has just started and makes you feel much better.
There is a recipe among my discussions but you could put garlic in any food and I recommend a little garlic every day as long as the cold lasts.

I never get the flu shot - it's really a crap-shoot so I don't know that it's worht it. Normally when I get sick it's not flu-related anyways so that wouldn't have helped. I did get that sneezy, runny nose thing a couple weeks ago though. It was so annoying!

Awwwww no I had not realised your hubby and Niamh have had it for that long of a period. It does come and go especially during the winter time. As soon as you think the worst is over, back comes the sniffles. I hope they get better soon. Thanks mummymo!!

Uhgggg I woke up with this dang flu yesterday and can't seem to shake it. One minute i'm freezing, the next I'm sweating- I'm taking tylonol extra stregth and PM to try and combat the symptoms- at least that is what the nurse at my doctors office says to do. So right now I have a bit of evergy as you can tell by my mylotting- but it comes and goes. Wish me luck my friend ;) How long did yours last?

Hope you're feeling better warmweatherwoman :) I ended up taking Tylenol too and that helped somewhat but my runny nose wouldn't go away. I think it lasted at least a couple of days. It wasn't as bad as yours though with the sweats and all.
