What do you guys think... Is the human being inherently good or evil?? Is the human from his nature already evil or good or is it something the human becomes later? I know these questions are a little bit vague but try to answer it anyway.

I think the human species is inherently neutral. We are then given freedom of choice, and can either choose to become evil (like Hitler), become good (like Mother Teresa), become a lesser version of either side (like almost every person out there), or to stay neutral (which few people have the capability of doing). It also depends on the upbringing of the person. If they are only shown cruelty, the choice towards evil starts to look like the only choice there is, since it's all that's been shown. If they are shown unconditional love, the choice towards good bnecomes easier by at least a thousandfold.

To get a exact answer for that question may be hard. I think the human get good or evil in his/her life path, and there are many factors that could have some influence on it like society, family, personality or the enviroment where he/she raises.

Well, I kind of think that human beings are inheritently good. But constantly tempted by evil. Just what I want to believe maybe as a Christian. It is so easy to wrong sometimes. The challenge is to keep it right. Get what I'm saying?

I'm not sure that it can be said that human beings are inherently good or evil, because I believe that both ideas are concepts defined by context. What is good, or evil? Ask one person today, and ask a person a hundred years ago, or two hundred, and your answers will not be the same. Thus, to say that there is some 'good' that humans are born with would have no meaning, because 'good' is not one specific thing. Yet, to say that humans are not born with some concepts that we might call good and evil is also not correct. There must be some general desire to further the species, else it would not exist, which in turn drives some things we might call 'good'. In short, I believe the question cannot be answered because to answer it would be to make assumptions that cannot be made.

Yeah, I agree with you. For example, stealing. Is it good or evil? There is a certain tribe that encourages their people to steal stranger's stuff.

It all depends on your definition of Evil. Religious Evill? or ..?I'm not going to pretend to know all about the Saint and Evil issues when it comes to religion. If you were meaning more along the lines of whether we are born with or wothout having concious..well... I again do not claim to be a pro or anything, however, my guess leeans a bit more towards the majority of us living what we learn. Technically i'm not so sure you can even be one without knowing the other..can you?.. Also, as we all know, Life is just cruel. hmmm...I dunno.. I have read that there are a small percentage of us, that appear to be born without a concience ability.. Does that make them Evil?..or disabled...?...hmmm... I am not so certain. I'M SOOOO CONFUSED NOW!!! lol probably am making no sense any more...my mind feels so clusstered...lol Didn't Jefferey Dahmer gradually and progressively get worst?.. Yet...He also got even better at keeoping from being caught too...sooo... hmmm... I'm sticking with my guess as of right now...lol..I think people seem to PROGRESS into evil behaviors..teaching themselves more than being taught... Good question. i'm going to have to start reading up on that a bit more. Interesting.have a great one! Jo Jo
