but there is NO Fire!!!!! It is 11:50 PM and twenty minutes ago after being in bed for a good hour and a half I jumped to ask is there a fire to my husband who was throwing on his pants o...Our unit was clear and he checked on our son who was sleeping peacefully and then he threw shoes on and ran out into the hall to see and even outside and there is no fire in any of the four units!!! The alarm is srill going as I ype this and I am so annoyed because while my husband was doing all of that I was throwing on socks and grabbed my coat and put on my boots andthen grabbed my sons coat and boots etc. thinking we would have to evacuate and it is cold out side for my husband to come back in to our unit and say that it was O.K...No fire! Needless to say I can't sleep now with all of that that has just gone on and not to mention that the alarm is still going in the hall!!! I'm annoyed to say the least! So, Have you ever had a false alarm? Or Maybe you had a real incidence of fire where you had to get out... Either way, what did you do and how did you feel? Incidently, I can't seem to find the landlord's phone number when I need it most!!! ~Heavens~

Back when we burned wood, we always had the alarm going off, especially when we were having problems starting a fire.. That is why we invested in an alarm that had a shut off button, because the other kind wouldn't shut off until it was clear, so it would have been many minutes before we had any peace.lol

This is the second time... However the first time there were actually people out in the hall that I think may have set it off...It is sad but my husband and I are the oldest people in the building! ~Heavens~

I had this happen to me at work a few days ago. My office is on the third floor. I heard something that sounded like an alarm, but the alarms on the third floor weren't going off. I was about to call building security when my co-worker arrived. It turned out the alarm was sounding on the second floor, but there was no fire.

I am sorry to say it Gabs but for some reason we are unable to find our Landlords number and so never did get a hold of him! Someone must have called him though because the one in the basement stopped and it was behind a locked door and so would have to be turned of by someone with a key.... Thanks so much my dear friend! No wonder you are annoyed sweety - how awful! I do hope that the alarm went off for you quickly and that you eventually got back to sleep! I hope that your son wasn't too upset by this as it must have been very scary! I haven't had this type of experience but I do remember when my friend who lives around the corners house went up in flames! The worst thing was that her daughter had been off school ill for a few days before this happened and we weren't sure if she had gone back yet or not - it was a very traumatic experience! Luckily there was no one inside the house and everyone was safe although it took several months for them to rebuild the house, I wouold NEVER be without a fire alarm after seeing that! xxx

The alarm in the hall stopped but the basement one was still going today at lunch when I left for work! My son slept through the whole thing last night and so it never bothered him thankfully and he did not notice the faint sound of the one from the basement today either! :) I did get back to sleep as I was so tired after only a half hour on the computer! I had to fall back to sleep and slept the rest of the night :) I would never be without a fire alarm either! I have never been in a fire before and am glad that I still haven't been :) ~Heavens~
