Watching T.V. always, is it Healthy?

Watching t.v. is a good hobby, but not too much...As far as i've observed, there are people especially kids who were really hooked up in their t.v. sets...they love to watch their favorite t.v. shows most especially cartoon t.v. shows...i have seen old people too who still love to watch cartoons...too much watching t.v. may affect our well-being, because once you get hooked up with it, you just can't help it but to watch even if there are more important stuffs to be done rather than watching t.v... I would admit that i love watching t.v. too but not always and too much...i love to watch my favorite t.v. shows, but i will not compromise my work just because i have to watch my favorite t.v. shows...it's really important to have limitations and moderations in all things we do... Do you love watching t.v. too? Watching t.v. always, do you think it's healthy?

I used to watch a lot of television... but in 2004... I started to get annoyed with it for two reasons... 1) They had all those weekly shows which I had to wait a week to see the next episode. 2) But the worse... was when they changed the time of the show and I would miss it. That got me really angry and I stopped watching television. I have not watched television for two years... and I am not missing it at all. These days I only watch what I want to see on DVDs. There is no doubt that watching television is a waste of time and a waste of your life. There are so many better things you could do with your life. Like talking with your family for starter.

hello there to U...thank you for sharing your response and for sharing your experience regarding watching t.v. to my discussion...wow, you haven't watched t.v. for two years, and you're not missing it at all...that's really amazing, i can't imagine myself not watching t.v. for two long years...i like watching weekly shows too, and like you, i had to wait a week to see the next episode, patiently...yeah, that happens to me too, feeling sad, that sometimes they would changed the time of those t.v. shows, and i would just missed the next next episodes...but i would admit, that i still watch those weekly shows and wait a week for their next episodes...like reality t.v. shows, etc...i guess, you're right, watching television is just a waste of time and life...but watching t.v. shows that are educational is a good thing too...i think that's a good advice, there are so many better things we could do in our lives...thanks really for sharing those wonderful info's...have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

Hello, angeljenn!you watch TV,but selective programs from which you derive some knowledge.varieties of programs are shown and if you go on watching all these, you get hardly any time to do your normal works and that will definitely adversely effect your health.for the children, TV is in no way beneficial.so don't allow the children to watch TV always.they will go lazy thereby.thank you.

hello there to U...thanks for replying to my discussion...i really do appreaciate it...yes, it's true, watching t.v. always may affect our health...especially for all kids out there...that's why i would always tell that to all my little cousins because they really love watching t.v. especially cartoons shows...they would just get lazy and forget their homeworks in school...i have always concern for all my little cousins because their parents, my aunts and my uncles, they just forget to remind and monitor their kids...so whenenever i can, i'm always the one who gets to monitor their kids...watching t.v. is only good if there's limitations and if those t.v. shows we're watching is beneficial...have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

we don't watch a lot of tv in my house. Me....I have never ever really gotten into it much...even as a kid. there have always been some shows that I loved. When I was really young, I was addicted to "dark shadows". I for a short time got into court tv. Now, weeks go by and I don't turn on the tv and neither does my daughter.

hello there to U...thanks for sharing your beautiful thoughts to my discussion...watching t.v. too much is a bad habit, there should be limitations...so good for you, you don't watch t.v. a lot...and it's good to know that your daughter too doesn't watch t.v. that much...i've learned that there are better and valuable things to do rather than engaging yourself too long on t.v....have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

I love watching tv and I watch way too much!! If I have work to do though I dont let the tv distract me, its usually the computer that does that now!! I dont think its healthy when its a gorgeous day outside and everyones stuck in the house watching tv, but I can honestly say I dont think I will change now as I am too long in the tooth!!!

hello there to U...thanks for sharing your response to my discussion...i do understand your situation...it's good to watch t.v. but not too much...in my own point of view, you can still stop that "watching t.v. too much habit" by doing some other beneficial stuffs like exercising, doing some household chores, reading, writing, engaging in some sports, and working...it's good to make our life worth living...watching t.v. can be beneficial if you're watching knowledgeable t.v. shows...have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

Even i used to watch alot of programs in t.v. when i was young, but now after having my kids and other relations that is when we spend time with children or with our family members it will be more interesting than anything else. for a change we can even go for an outing in the weekends withor family or we can keep ourselves busy with any other tasks.

TV isn't healthy unless you are an active viewer, which is exhausting in my opinion. Most people are passive viewers, which means you can basically be hypnotized by the commercials and agendas of the program makers. It's pretty scary when you think about it. Besides the mental effects, you are just sitting there, not moving. I have read that you burn less calories per hour watching TV than if you were sleeping, because you are as inactive as when you are sleeping, but you are awake, so those repairative things your body does each night when you sleep aren't happening, you just exist. I think most people should really limit their TV watching, or not watch at all. There are way better means of getting information.
