Who's sharing the Archbishop of Canterbury oppinion? Is that possible that in a democratic country like England someone that should be a model for society and should defend a legal and equall system comes to the public defend a law (sharia) that defend different tradition on questions like monogamy, provisions for divorce, the rights of women, custody of children, laws of inheritance and of evidence? Is the world going "nuts" for sure? should the Archbispshop quit?

on this my friend i am araid we must agree to disagree for to follow christ is to obey the commandments one being thou shall have no other Gods before me !Allah the quoran clearly states that allah has no son so in effect he has to be a god other than the one of the christians and to even consider it a possibility is a sin

Well, Rowan Williams never said that there is god besides the God of the Bible. You can read his books to know what he believes. In fact, many have been edified by reading his books. But the point is how then should Christians interact with muslims? Force them to come to church? No. Force them to leave their religion? No. We can't force them. We can only dialogue. Muslims are struggling to modernise and live in harmony with others. But they don't know how to go about with the idea. But if they don't modernise we also suffer, and not just them. How then do we help them modernise? I don't have easy answer. But how you help Muslim to modernise?

Well, Rowan Williams is a genuine follower of Christ. The matter is complicated because it's got to do with political theology. How do Christians interact with other religions is a very complex issue. And I think just because someone has a different formula to interact with others I think we should not label such a person as fake.

I don't think Archbishop should quit. In a democratic country one needs to debate and engage in discussion instead of asking people to quit just when they have difference of opinion. Yes, the archbishop should quit if he has committed a crime, but he has not committed a crime here.
I don't think it is good to have sharia law for a country like UK. I think it is better to have a common society, and that would allow people to integrate better and thus avoid stereotype.

The problem here is that he's a man with loads of influence in the society and he can put things on fire with such declarations as he did. In a regular job you dont need to comite a crime to get fire. You can have an opinion... the Archbishop doesnt simple give an opinion, he does declarations and I think he should think better about consequences. Txs for your opinion :)

True. But he is also human. How much damaged has he done with his statements? Well, I don't think it so much that he deserves to quit. If we look at politicians they make much more mistakes than the Archbishop.

in a democracy everybody has freedom of speech i personally believe there is no harm in airing his views, following them is another debate
