INVENTIONS - what would you like to invent?

If given a chance to pursue an invention, what would it be? For what purpose is it? How does it work? And why invent that? If i was to invent something, it would be a household device that could generate power from the sun to use as energy for appliances and stuff. i know, solar panels already exist but i want something more efficient and that would be available to all. So that we wouldn't have to depend on oil for primary means of generating energy. plus, solar energy is unlimited (well, relatively). and hopefully, the invention would be developed to be used in office buildings as well. same as schools and other businesses..

There are a few things I would invent. One would be a device that you could put lotion on your own back. This winter has been hard on the skin and when you live by yourself you can't reach areas that really need it. Another thing I would invent is a teapot that doesn't leak all over. It seems like when you try to pour out of them they leak all over. I know it's probably from pouring too fast but usually it leaves a mess!

haha.. i agree about the lotion thing.. hope it works with soap as well.. about the teapot, maybe you ought to get some china with a little spout, hehe.. that may help a bit.. it's hard to control pouring when you're in a hurry.. hehe..

that has a lot of potential.. but it may be much doable if rather that creating matter, you can change the make-up of matter instead. i guess that would be easier than creating something from nothing. at least with changing the base which is molecules, you will be able to use anything from garbage, plants, or even air.. that would be a splendid invention because we can finally get rid of all the garbage in the world and then turn them to something useful..

I've had this idea ever since I was ten. I know there are alot cooler things out there in the world, but I really think of iventing it. I would invent a rubber ball alarm clock. It would be constructed like some sort of translucent bouncy ball with a clock display inside, which you could see clearly. Then, when the alarm goes off, you could turn it off by chunking it against the wall. Not only would it exorcise your anger that it's morning already, but the physical motion would help wake you up so you don't fall back asleep!

hahaha.. very nice concept since my hands are now fully trained to hit the snooze button on my alarm clock.. hehehe.. even better if the ball will elude your hands forcing you to go after it just so the sound will stop.. good luck getting five more minutes snooze after that..

I would like to invent a machine that will enable a person to be teleported instantaneously from one place to another without traveling through space. Teleportation is not a new concept, but so far this has only been applied in science fiction and the movies. I've also seen this happening in David Copperfield's shows, but to me, this is just an illusion. If a real teleportation machine can be invented, it will cut down traveling time from one place to another, and enable people to transport themselves very quickly for work or leisure.

With the advancement in technology, someday teleportation may just become a reality. If that happens, the viability of public transport operators and the airlines will be threatened. Until then, we have to keep dreaming...

hahaha.. by that time, maybe gas operated transportations will be obsolete. quite in time also as fossil fuel needed for gas production may already be depleted. maybe, the teleportation industry will start as a military project (just like the internet) and then develop to mass use. by then, the public transpo industry will inevitably change their line of business because if they will not adapt to the new needs and advancement, their companies will go down and be buried with the past.. lol..

yeah. i can't remember a day in my life when i didn't wish for that.. especially when i was commuting in college and i'm running really really late.. maybe if there's a machine that can change the frequency of matter like the one used in radio stations then it may lead to the development of teleportation. i don't think that this is impossible because we'll never know what technology can bring us. besides, millenia ago, people must have thought it was crazy to reach the moon, right? it might sound crazy now but you never know..

I would want to invent floors that move for me. I am a really lazy person so it would really be cool if I didn't have to walk that much anymore. All I would have to do was stand there and wait till the floor took me to my destination. Hopefully, when that happens, it won't affect my thinking processes as well. Also, I want an underwater radio. It's boring sometimes when I'm swimming laps and all I'm hearing is the water splashing. I mean, it's soothing most of the time, but sometimes, it would be fun to get revvd up by a good beat.

the floor thing is quite possible but maybe not i a pointA to pointB situation. it may have detours and stuff.. this are being used in some malls so that people need not walk far especially with shopping or grocery bags. now with the underwater radio, i think there are available gadget sleeves where you can keep your ipod and stuff. but if you are thinking of making sound travel water matter, that would be really great.. i think that technology is being used in ships and water animal research for communication purposes. now, if the frequency will be developed for that of am/pm while being suited to be audible underwater, then we may have something there..

Ha Ha ... nice discussion posham, well i would like to invent a time machine. Honestly, because i can just move back and front in the time. I saw this movie of steven speilberg, Back to the Future and since then it got in my mind. I mean you can go into the future and know everything that wins and come back to the present and stay on winning. If you don't understand what i am saying, i just want you to watch the movie. It's really a great movie.

don't worry, i've seen the trilogy dozens of times.. lol.. i especially like the one where marty mcfly got to meet his parents even before they started going out.. he was the only person who got into trouble even before he was born.. lol.. anyway, yeah, i've always wanted to go back in time and right all the mistakes i've made.. and i agree that it would be a hell lot cooler if i can get all the winning lottery numbers in the future and live life extravagantly at present. the only thing that bothers me though is that i might mess up the time and space continuum.. so, i guess this is a great invention but would have to be utilized with extreme care..

Lol, Jillhill's suggestions are rather funny! lol, i agree with the back thing, and i would adapt on just the back, all of the body, because i hate putting lotion everywhere when you are on holiday. I would create something which made me lots of money, and i enjoyed doing instead of doing what needs to be done without becoming rich that fast! lol .... ok, so mine is lame but hey! lol :)

haha.. anyone can dream right? well, money is easy to create, just print lots of it.. but of course printing loads of money will devalue it, maybe your best bet will be creating gold instead.. lol..
