assam is astate which is located in north-eastern part of india. during our stay at jorha for 3 years we ha d visited so many places of scenic impotance and wild life abundance. of which kaziranga national parkis 80km from jorhat.single horn Rhinos are plentily available there.we had stayed there fora couple of nights in a hotel called wild grass.this also provides elephant ride which takes us very close to the rhions and other wild elephants. early morning during the month of Bhihu its a marvelleous experience riding thru the early morning mist. we have seen about half dozen rhinos at a time which have attacked our close by riding elephant. the mahuts were very alert and brought all other riding elephants close by and tamed the fighiting rhinos we had some anxious moments and were terribly shaken.thanks to the experienced mahuts.the ride takes about 1&half hoursthru thck woods and small pools of water.we had come across some good no of elephants and couple of tigers.one wild beast had just galloped just about 100mts away from us during our jeep ride on the other day morning.though the trip that time was frightened that moment of attack entire stay of 2 days was very very memorable, with bhihu dancing and songs during nights.
