My ex husband thought they were hilarious! I hated when he watched them on tv because my kids also watched and of course at the young age they were they sometimes did what they saw the Stooges do. Not a good thing as far as I was concerned. I never found them to be funny although it seems like men enjoyed them more than most women I knew. Maybe it's that I never liked "slapstick" humor but I think they took it too far and sometimes it looked like they hurt each other even if it was all in fun!
Did you watch the Three Stooges when they were on tv years ago or buy their DVD's at some point? Did you think they were really funny?

They were my least favorite as a child. I would watch anything else before I would watch them. I found that their 'humor' got old after a while. I would find myelf getting bored while watching The Three Stooges. Strangely they survivied and had many, many seasons on TV. Someone must have enjoyed them!

It was the MEN who enjoyed them and I believe were responsible for them being on the air and as popular as they were.

I never did like The Three Stooges. To me they were just stupid. As was Laural and Hardy. My ex loved them too as did the kids. Abbot and Costello were so much funnier. I never did like the hitting and slapping that they were always doing. I did think Curly was cute but though Moe was too mean to him.

I absolutely loved those guys! I still think they are so funny! But even as a kid, I sometimes wondered how much it hurt when they would clobber each other over the heads. I used to drive my mom up the wall doing the "nyuk nyuk nyuk" sound day in and day out. LOL

I did not like the three Stooges at all.I did not think they were funny, i thought they were silly..My ex loved them too, but he was a control freak..i think men like them because it shows dominance..Like one stooge always slaps around another...I never watched them they were not funny but a lot stupid....i think funny things are like the carol burnett show or the honeymooners now thats what i call funny....Anything that shows abuse is not funny to me...

You are right about the dominance thing and I loved the Carol Burnett Show and the Honeymooners.

I personally didn't watch them so I haven't an opinion. I did however ask my husband his opinion and he says. Yes he watched them all the time. He thought they were funny to a point but not as in hillariously funny. He preferd Loral & Hardie. Not sure of that spell, as I didn't watch them either. Hubby tells me I have no outside life, but I wonder how many times he watch this garbage outside hehehehe. Hell my family didn't even have a TV when I was going up, because you need power for that.

I don't think there was a man who didn't laugh at their hijinx which were so stupid to me. Laurel and Hardy were almost as bad as the Three Stooges.

I do remember watching them when I was in school, ctry, but all of us kids did. It was the "in" thing to do back then. Love them or hate them, they have remained popular for some odd reason throughout the decades. They really were not my cup of tea, and I have not watched them in years, even when we had cable TV and my ex used to like to watch them.

We used to watch them, and I liked slapstick humor, but not as much as the literal humor they had on the Airplane movies and the subtle British humor. I often wondered why they did not hurt each other -- but then I grew up on watching Cary Grant taking plat falls so they could be why I liked it, but I think it is more a man's type of humor, but now that you think of it, maybe there is something wrong with me for liking it.
As for my boys when they were young, they were more into Flintstones and Sesame Street and later Lassie, than watching Three Stooges - a good thing too.

Where do I go to evoke my female card? I love the Three Stooges. I loved it when they would slap each other. Curly is my favorite. And my all time favorite sketch is the "Niagara Falls" bit.

From the time I was little my dad watched the three stooges. I love these guys. I do find them humorous. I couldn't tell you why but I can watch them for hours. My wife does not like them or find them funny either though so you are not alone. However; as I said, I love them .

Yes. I still laugh at their antics. My favorite stooge is Shemp.
