The Story:
A criminal conspires revenge, upon the judge that on multiple occasions has sent him to jail.
Yet, the plan is thwarted by unforeseen occurrences..
He seeks the next best victim, the judges' son. When he has placed his son in jail, he does the same to himself, so that he can revel in watching him suffer, behind bars.
"Lets Go To Prison" is mostly amusing, but not entirely funny. It delivers few well deserved chuckles, but never makes you laugh out loud. The premise is flexed to its maximum capacity, but at its conclusion, it remains nothing but an average comedy. It's slightly better than those that go straight to video.
It contains funny portions by Dax Shepard (Employee of the Month) and Will Arnett (Arrested Development) but not enough to raise its quality.
Chi McBride (Boston Public) was hilarious, as a sophisticated gang leader.
The script is its main weakness, because it gave comedians that can be funny, very little to work with. It was not creative at all, and the ending could be seen, a mile away.
This movie is the type that is pleasant to watch.. but not worthy enough to spend any money on.
Did you like "Lets go to Prison"?
