Why is it that I can't ever remember everything I need when I go to WalMart?

Even if I make a list! I always forget something. I don't realize it until I get home and need the item that was not on my list. I keep a magnetic notepad on the fridge just so I can add stuff to the list as I remember or realize that I need it. This aggravates me to no return. Why is it that I cannot remember what I need? Especially when it is something that I use frequently. Does anyone else do this as well? Does it aggravate you or do you think it's just part of life?

IT's not that you cant remember everything you need when you go to walmart. It's you forget certain items when you go to walmart. The reason being walmart is full of clothes, foods, furniture, electronics, toys and once you eyes see them your brain startes to wonder " I could use one of these and these" leading to new purchases and the forgetten of other ones you intended to purchase but we're not important. If you are forgetten the major items on your list before you enter walmart then there may be something wrong with you :O but, i dont think there is its just all those goods driving you crazy!

I really hate Walmart and try not to go there. Well, I go as little as possible. My daughter thinks she needs a toy everytime we are there.

Really I cant seem to stick to my list, every time I go I end up with a ton of crap I dont really need at all. So I guess I would say that I am completely the opposite on this one.

I balance it out by getting 10 items that aren't on the list. It always happens.

Happens to me all the time. I think I just get rather distracted when I go into a store, so when I get in there and start shopping and start looking around, I end up forgetting what was on the list or what I needed to check out. Quite common I think. It is a pain though,, no denying that.

i am so like you! i always forget something (even on my grocery list!) it helps to have other people with you to jog your memory, but i find it happens because we have too much on our minds as well as we are so busy! it bugs me a little, especially if it was something that i really needed ~sigh~

I seem to have the same problem. I make my list and then either forget the list at home or forget to read it. Yes, I have taken a list to the store and forgotten to consult it. How lame am I? I will often get home and realize that I didn't put something on my list that I really need. Additionally, I usually come home with numerous things that weren't on my list but caught my eye. I just use it as another excuse to go shopping again!

Well, I tends to forget something I needed to buy if I just try to remember them... But it seems better when I have a shopping list as I always strike off from the list after I managed to get it.. The bad thing is when I couldn't find the thing I want as its out of stock, which frustrates me....

Or when you forget to put it on the list. That's my problem part of the time.

What happens is that you get distracted..As soon as you enter a supermarket, your eyes starts wandering here and there, not sticking to the purpose on hand. Even if we have a list we tend to forget about that list temporarily, keep looking at the things that are kept there. Our mind gets confused and we tend to buy what is not needed. To offset this what I do is to walk straight to the counter according to my list, get the things first, then later if I have money and time on my hand I go window shopping... Mostly I do not keep extra money, unless I pay by card.

Yes I do this as well and it frustrates me so much. But the worse thing that I do that makes me so cross with myself and I do it every week, I write my list, go shopping and forget something that is written on the list!!! How can I do that when it is written down in front of my eyes!

I do that at every store. Doesn't matter whether its stuff for me, the house, or food. For every item I forget I grab three I didn't mean to get.

Don't you make a list? I learned a long time ago that I had to make a list. Sometimes I sit down right before and make it. That is probably part of the problem. Maybe I should walk thru the whole house before going.

It's natural for people to forget things when they see a lot of them in the market. Better to note down what you wanna buy.

My husband does that. I tell him to grab me something at the supermarket across the street, and by the time he gets there, he's forgotten what it was I sent him over there for. He's getting better. He's started making a LIST of the things to get, even if there is only one thing on the list.
