So I'm sure everybody has had that experience... you know your driving down the road and right infront of you something happens and somehow you manage not to be involved. Well I live in NW Washington and the last couple of weeks has been really cold snowy and the roads are like ice skating rinks.... Well one day me and my 8 year old son are driving down the road it was somewhat clear, but I am always on the look out. About 10 car lengths ahead I notice a couple of deer run across the road in front of a full sized truck, one slips but manages to get back up. Now for those of you not familiar with WA the deer here are like small horses. (I'm originaly from CA and there they are small and skinny) Anyways these deer are missed by the truck and run off threw a nearby field. Now most of the traffic has slowed down and where there are a couple of deer there is usually more and sure enough here comes another deer. Now at this time I am about 4 car lengths away from the truck that almost hit the first deer. Now this deer decides its just gonna jump the truck but doesnt make it and ends up in the back of the truck, by now my son sees this and we are both in shock, of course by now I am almost stopped, the deer jumps out of the truck lands on his back rolls a few times jumps up and runs across the road right infront of me I could see the whites of his eyes. I don't know if he survived the night he was injured from the accident but they are tuff up here. All I could think of was if I wasnt paying attention when that deer jumped out of the truck he could of landed right in my windshield and done some damage. So I would love to here some more close call stories.

I have been in the car when a deer jumped out of nowhere! it was young and the car was not able to stop. Another car stopped to help,we were quite upset, but the other car's owner said they would take the deer, and do not worry about it! There was not too much damage as the deer was smaller than usual. I have never been to NW Washington, but it sounds like the deer are more able to survive the cold winters!
