One act of stupidity can cost you a lifetime... How true is this for some people yet very false to some... Can a mistake be wrong enough that a person must bear if as long as he/she lives... or will there always be a redeeming factor that would save a person from this certain act of stupidity?...

That depends on whether the mistake was grabbing the hot end of a loaded electical circuit, or just some social faux pas, I guess. When approaching a deep ravine, watch that first step, though...it could be our last one!

Smiles on faces are what I try to be all about, although some of my jokes do fall flat. Did you notice that someone copycatted you on your discussion about Crash's debut?

I think time is a redeeming factor when it comes to saving a person from a certain act of stupidity. We have all done things that are stupid, most of the time it was when we were younger. You grow up and learn from your stupid mistakes and there comes a time when you and people around you just get over it. If anything your left with a funny story that you can laugh at later. I don't sweat it and let it bother me. If someone says they have never made a stupid mistake or done something they are not proud of, they are lying. I don't care how good of a person you are.

i think it can . depending upon the fact and the depth of it on certain situation, it can be heavy. I have seen this once. A so called friend tried to be clever and just cheated me. i have no contact with him. Now he do not get any advantage that he used to enjoy earlier.

Well, i think your friend is experiencin a dose of bad Karma... i also saw that happen to people who cheated me or did a lot of bad things to me... some of them lost their job... and some lost a lot of money... so doing stupid things to hurt others can or will definitely result to a bad thing happening to them... thanks for the response...

That sort of thing always happen to teenagers... like being stupid enough to do this and that... say this and that... which may ultimately lead to something that they will regret maybe not forever... but for a very very long time... but you see... with the first couple of posts... i realized that there is more to it than meets the eye... thanks for the response...

One act of stupidity can cost you a lifetime. What about the person who drinks and drives. They have never done it before and probably would never do it again. While driving home they hit and kill someone. Now they are in prision for years once out of prision it is hard for them to get all those lost years back. What about the stupid idea of diving into shallow water and breaking ones neck and ends up in a wheel chair. Yes they are still alive but they will never walk again. I feel for every action there some type of consequence you have to pay either good or bad.

I agree with you... actions that lead to the lost of life should render a certain type of consequence that will teach the person never to do it again... or other never to try to do it... but still... stupid actions whether simple or grave should have a redeeming factor in which the doer can also have peace of mind if there is remorse and forgiveness...

That sounds kind of deep. I truely think that there is always a redeeming factor for everyone no matter what they have done. You say it was an act of stupidity. We are all human, we do stupid things. Everyone does stupid things just some of us get caught and some of us don't. It sounds like you are talking about one of the someone's who got caught. You have not been very specific so it is hard to give specific help and advice. But even if the person you are speaking of has committed a crime there is still redemption. It may just be personal redemption and not public redemption, but after all what is the most important in life. The personal or the public? I always say the personal. Shalom

I was not referring to a particular mistake nor to a particular person... it was just a thought on one of the principles that i live by... thank you for pointing out that we are all human thus we are constantly prone to making mistakes whether simple or serious ones... so now i need to rethink if i am to retain this principle or not... thanks for the insight...

Stupid thing - everyone does. But if it is to remain life long and one has to suffer for it, then it is a biggest blunder. By not studying properly during school and college days is a big blunder when you see your class mates and friends are heads in leading firms and governmental departments or for that matter prosper in business. Not taking up right job where one can have promotions and grading is also another blunder. Most of the time, it could happen only when one is not alert, active and hardworking. Most of the time it happens only to dull, lazy and lethargic persons.
